What You’ll Do
As a Senior Software Engineer at Applied Materials, you’ll dive deep into ground-breaking technologies pushing the boundaries to craft novel software solutions that solve our customers’ high-value problems. You’ll work with cross functional teams on interesting and challenging projects, contributing your expertise in intricate systems, deciphering code, and anticipating software behaviors to ensure Applied remains the leader in the semiconductor and display sectors.
Your key responsibilities will be
Design, develop, and maintain software solutions for next-generation semiconductor equipment.Influence architectural and technology decisions and help drive the adoption of best industry practices in software development, testing, and maintainability.Work closely with systems and hardware engineers to integrate software solutions with hardware components.Interface with internal and external customers for requirement analysis, functional specification, solution development, testing, and support.Navigate a dynamic work environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams and global counterparts to ensure the effective delivery of solutions.Mentor junior team members to deliver results.You will be a great fit if you have
Proficiency in programming, particularly in languages such as C++, C#, Java, or similar.Capability to collaborate with hardware and systems/application teams to comprehend system requirements and translate them into software designs.Strong computer science fundamentals (Object-Oriented technology, design patterns, data structures, and algorithms).Experience developing APIs and multi-threaded applications for distributed software systems. Experience with Docker and Kubernetes is a plus!Strong software diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, along with strong interpersonal communication skills.Team player mindset and motivated by team success.Experience working in Semiconductor industryMaster’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or similar fields with 10+ years of experience.QualificationsEducation:

$176,000.00 - $242,000.00The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.
For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
