About the Role

Be part of a full stack team whose mission is to build a user experience for the leading Observability platform built by Splunk. Splunk is the only company whose products have been named as leaders in both Security and Observability. You will contribute to the backend and frontend code to build and maintain the IT Service Intelligence product at Splunk.

Responsibilities

Design and develop/implement features from scratch with focus on front end development

Regularly leads design and code reviews, and participates in architecture discussions

Design subsystems and work with senior engineers to consider scale, performance, high availability as part of design.

Work with Product Managers to refine the requirements.

Collaborate with interaction designers and visual designers to build features with an intuitive user experience

Take ownership of subsystems and/or small features and propose changes or improvements to them.

Designs for testability. Automates effective test cases, and can make vital test framework improvements as required.

Work with Quality team to define the scope for testing

Helps teams estimate software deliverables, often across multiple sprint timelines.

Work with Architect to refine the technical backlog and define technical debt

Work with support, customers to actively troubleshoot issues and propose workaround

Take ownership and initiative to own and address issues promptly for our internal and external customers.

Become proficient in Splunk's core technologies and processes as they apply to application development.

Qualifications

Must-Have:

7+ years of relevant industry experience with a bachelor’s degree; or 5+ years and a master’s degree

Good knowledge of web standards and modern browsers, responsive design, and of the full web technology stack.

Experience in client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks (React)

Experience with all aspects of front end developments like browser compatibility, accessibility, localization, screen compatibility

Experience designing and developing REST-based well-defined contracts

Experience developing, debugging applications. Experience defining and improving on performance metrics, developing pipelines.

Self-starter who is comfortable taking the lead on a task, collaborating with other engineers to design and implement feature

Should be able to guide junior developers or interns

A strong foundation in computer science, with strong proficiency in operating systems, networks, data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, and software design

Excellent problem solving, collaboration, and communication skills, both verbal and written

Experience with React, Typescript , redux , relay

Familiarity with test automation frameworks 

Familiar with the agile software development process

Nice to have skills:

Extensive knowledge and production programming experience in at least one of Java/C++/Python

 Experience in working within a Continuous Delivery (CD) development model
