Senior Software Engineer in Test

This role is part of Enterprise Technology (ET), where we’re developing the digital infrastructure needed to build the road to space, with an emphasis on digital capabilities required to advance Blue Origin’s mission. Enterprise Technology is the center of excellence for digital technology at Blue Origin, providing oversight and governance to align technology and business strategies.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Engineer in Test to join our Enterprise Data Management & Analytics team. This role is ideal for a professional with a strong background in software testing and test automation who is eager to drive quality assurance processes for a rocket company. The candidate will play a pivotal role in building, maintaining, and enhancing automated test frameworks and ensuring the highest level of product quality.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Design, develop, and maintain scalable and robust automated test frameworks, focusing on efficiency and reusability.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and QA, to identify and address software quality challenges.

Write, execute, and maintain test cases using Python testing frameworks (e.g., pytest, unittest). Utilize Selenium to create and execute automated test scripts for web-based applications.

Analyze test results, debug issues, and drive defect resolution with development teams.

Contribute to continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines by integrating automated tests.

Develop comprehensive test plans and strategies to ensure coverage of functional, regression, and performance testing.

Mentor and guide junior team members in test automation and quality assurance best practices.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Minimum of 8 years of experience in software engineering or software testing roles, with a focus on test automation.

Strong expertise in Python and Python testing frameworks (e.g., pytest, unittest, or similar).

Demonstrated experience with Selenium for browser automation and testing.

Prior experience in designing and building custom test frameworks is highly desirable.

Familiarity with integrating test automation into CI/CD pipelines.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of Cypress or Playwright for end-to-end testing.

Knowledge of Data Platforms like Databricks, Snowflake or Palantir Foundry.

Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner.

Familiarity with cloud environments and testing in a distributed architecture.


 

Compensation Range for:

WA applicants is $164,415.00-$230,179.95
