Hybrid: This means the successful candidate is expected to report at GM Technical Center – Mountain View, CA or GM IT Innovation Center at Austin, TX, three days per week, at minimum.
The Role
Digital Products Engineering (DPE) Commerce enables commerce between General Motors, GM Dealers, and consumers. From online vehicle shopping to service scheduling to buying parts, accessories and digital experiences, DPE Commerce focuses on every phase of commerce.
In this role you will build and maintain the integration technical solutions using MuleSoft or similar technologies, works with the integration lead in helping make the right decisions and supports other developers, in the Lead-to-Order organization by following the best practices. This role plays a critical part in contributing to the integration practice, building partnership with other IT and product stakeholders, and designing the right solutions.
What You'll Do
Build technical solutions including specifying of requirements, functional decomposition, analysis, development and testing for current, new and major Integration programs Build an application network using API-led connectivity and Anypoint Platform Translate functional design requirements into API resources and methods Configure Mule applications succinctly and securely for different deployment environments Automate the building, unit testing, and deployment of Mule applications using Maven-based tooling Write unit tests for Mule flows using MUnit optimized for reuse and maintainability. Improve monitorability of Mule applications through health checks and operational logging Share assets and resources, including code, connector configurations, and more, between projects Invoke REST APIs and SOAP web services using various client components, taking into consideration the non-functional properties of API invocations Provide, communicate, and support common best practices among software community Performs complex design analysis and acts as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for at least one platform or application component Keeping up to date with advancements in middleware technology, industry trends, and best practices through continuous learning and professional development.Additional Job DescriptionYour Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications)
Experience: 6+ years of hands-on experience in developing applications using MuleSoft or comparable technologies, demonstrating a strong understanding of integration principles.Anypoint Platform Proficiency: Extensive experience with the Anypoint Platform, including the ability to discover, design, build, deploy, and govern APIs effectively.Integration Skills: Proven capability to connect and integrate with various data sources, including databases, files, web services, SaaS applications, and JMS queues, showcasing a comprehensive understanding of integration methodologies.API Development: Expertise in translating functional design requirements into well-structured API resources and methods, ensuring clarity and functionality.Robust Functionality: Ability to build more robust and testable functions and expressions by utilizing strong typing, match operators, error handling, and effective logging practices.API Invocation: Proficient in invoking REST APIs and SOAP web services using various client components, with a keen awareness of the non-functional properties of API invocations to ensure optimal performance and reliability.Enterprise Integration Patterns: Skilled in applying essential Enterprise Integration Patterns to orchestrate multiple Mule applications and API invocations, enhancing overall system efficiency and effectiveness.Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field or equivalent related experience, demonstrating a solid foundation in technology and integration practices.What Will Give You a Competitive Advantage (Preferred Qualifications)
A solid understanding of essential Maven concepts. Completion of the Anypoint Platform Development: Fundamentals course A current MuleSoft Certified Developer - Level 1 certification A current MuleSoft Certified Developer - Level 2 certificationThe salary range for this role is $93,000 and $232,900. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
