Senior Software Engineer (Network Security and Compliance)

What you'll do The Senior Software Engineer will design and develop software solutions that automate compliance and audit processes. This role involves deep technical challenges and the opportunity to work with cross-functional teams to influence our overall strategy and drive innovation in compliance automation. This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Sr. Manager, Systems. Engineering Responsibility Architect, design, and implement scalable, resilient systems that automate the audit and compliance lifecycle Engage with vendor support teams to understand software and firmware roadmaps, stability, and vulnerabilities Collaborate with compliance and security teams, both internal and external, to stay current with regulatory standards and proactively develop solutions to accommodate new requirements Provide technical guidance to the vulnerability management process and assist with scoring and ranking vulnerabilities Understand the end to end flows used by customers to access Docusign services, and provide critical guidance on security and compliance conformance Participate in a rotating on call schedule Job Designation Hybrid: Employee divides their time between in-office and remote work. Access to an office location is required. (Frequency: Minimum 2 days per week; may vary by team but will be weekly in-office expectation) Positions at Docusign are assigned a job designation of either In Office, Hybrid or Remote and are specific to the role/job. What you bring Basic Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field 5+ years of experience in software development with a focus on security and compliance Must be capable of obtaining and maintaining certification to access IL4 regulated systems Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder Demonstrable knowledge of compliance frameworks including PCI, SOC, ISO, FedRamp, and IL4 Proven track record of developing scalable, maintainable, and secure software solutions Understanding of the underlying infrastructure of systems at scale including load balancing, cloud environments, and certificate infrastructure Understanding of risk management principles and the ability to assess and mitigate compliance risks Knowledge of data governance frameworks and practices, including data classification and handling Preferred Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a dynamic environment Relevant certifications in security and/or networking Experience in cloud environments, especially with implementing cloud-native security controls. Hands-on experience with programming languages and automation tools (Ansible, Python, Java, Go, Node.js, terraform, docker etc.) Wage Transparency Pay for this position is based on a number of factors including geographic location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Based on applicable legislation, the below details pay ranges in the following locations: Washington and New York (including NYC metro area): $145,800 - $214,350 base salary This role is also eligible for bonus, equity and benefits.
