A week in the life of a Senior Software Engineer:

Advise senior policy makers on critical decisions in the area of software assurance.  Provide direct support to DOD R&E Domain and Technical Lead in the assessment, overview, and development of schedules, plans, briefings, and other technical support associated with Major DoD Acquisition Programs. Conduct DoD software measurement and analysis on benchmarking, cost estimating and project control. Provide SWE technical and analytical services in support of OUSD acquisition program responsibilities, the term software includes, but is not limited to, Commercial-off-the-Shelf, Government-off-the Shelf, custom code, firmware, and software applied to Major Defense Acquisition Programs (MDAPs), Major Automated Information Systems (MAIS) and other systems as assigned.
