R | V Tech is searching for a passionate and skilled Senior Software Engineer to support the Joint Venture Vehicle Data Services and to join our IoT and Streaming Team. This role requires designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance, low-latency, robust, scalable, and reliable distributed systems. This Engineer will be a key contributor in shaping our technology infrastructure's backbone, collaborating across teams, and solving complex technical challenges to build the future of vehicle-to-cloud communication. Key responsibilities include building the SaaS layer for EventWatch, supporting commercial vehicle data integrations, handling requests for new pipelines, and supporting fleet use cases. The team is also investing in AWS auto-scaling and exploring alternate infrastructures.The ideal candidate will excel in creating the electric architecture and software for next-generation Software Defined Vehicles (SDVs) and enjoys a fast-paced, innovative environment. Responsibilities Manage and optimize low latency telemetry and state API services for real-time data and interactive use cases like mobile apps and dashboards. Maintain comprehensive documentation for systems, processes, and tools. Continuously improve CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and alerting systems. Design, develop, and deploy distributed systems and applications with a focus on scalability, reliability, and performance. Work with event-driven architectures, leveraging technologies like Kafka and Redis to build efficient and fault-tolerant systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand system requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions. Write high-quality, maintainable code in Go (GoLang) Programming, ensuring robust test coverage. Implement, monitor, and debug applications, ensuring high availability and low latency. Develop, deploy, and maintain solutions on cloud platforms, particularly AWS. Manage and optimize message brokers and implement streaming and queuing solutions as required. Proactively identify and address performance bottlenecks, scalability challenges, and production issues. Qualifications Office Location Requirement: Ability to work from R | V Tech’s Palo Alto Office at least three days per week is required for this role. Work From Home: Ability to work from home two days a week is supported as well. On-Call: Participation in a rotating on-call schedule, including occasional weekends, late nights, and holidays, to resolve critical production issues is also required. Education: At least a Bachelor’s Degree is required for this role. Experience: At least 2 years of experience is also needed for this role. Skills: Strong foundation in Software Engineering Principles and Distributed Systems Design. Proficiency in Go (GoLang) Programming, with demonstrated experience building production-grade applications. Experience with Cloud Platforms like AWS and familiarity with cloud-native patterns. Expertise in event-driven architecture and working with message brokers such as Kafka. Proficiency with Redis for caching, session storage, or distributed data structures. Solid understanding of monitoring tools like Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana Labs, or Amazon CloudWatch and debugging production systems. Software Development Experience with unit testing, integration testing, and performance testing. Strong knowledge of Git for version control and collaboration. Experience with microservices and API based platform systems Experience building cost effective and efficient designs in a preferred technology. Ability to self-manage and drive projects to completion while working independently Preferred: Education: Masters or PhD is strongly preferred, but not required.
