Role Summary We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Software Systems Quality Engineer to join our Software Quality team. You will help identify software quality metrics and guidelines using the first-principle mindset by referring to industry standards. You will play a crucial role in establishing and maintaining quality processes, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring adherence to standards, with a strong focus on effective Requirements Management. Responsibilities On a typical day, you will be working on: Multi-Level Requirements Development - Decompose and manage Software System and Software Component/Unit level requirements . Automotive Standards Compliance - Manage requirements related to the Automotive Homologation process, Cybersecurity, Functional Safety and Global Regulatory standards. Requirements Management - Manage requirements using requirements management tools to track changes, versions, and compliance status across all levels. Traceability & Validation - Establish and maintain requirements traceability matrices to link requirements to design, code, test cases, and safety/security analyses across all levels. Requirement Risk Management - Proactively identify, analyze, and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality. Requirement Change Management - Establish and enforce a change management process for requirements across all levels, ensuring compliance with safety, security, and homologation. Qualifications At a minimum, we expect you to have: Experience working with all levels of Requirements development (System, Subsystem, Component, Unit levels). Experience with process automation tools for software change management. Experience with Jira and Confluence for task tracking, documentation and collaboration Experience with Requirements management tools (DOORS, Polarion, JAMA). Experience working with cross functional teams and on simultaneous projects Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Bonus points if you have: Experience working in an automotive industry Strong understanding of V-Model and Agile software development methodologies with a focus on process implementation and requirement management. Training or Certification in automotive industry standards (ASPICE L2, ISO 26262, ISO 21434 or similar). Experience with region-specific automotive homologation compliance (UN, EU, GB/T, GCC or similar). Pay Disclosure Salary Range for Irvine, California Based Applicants: $135,100 - $168,900 per year (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law). Salary Range for Palo Alto, California Based Applicants: $146,900 - $183,600 per year (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
