As a Senior Software Test Engineer at Kulicke and Soffa (K&S), you will test software for SMT and LED machines in the semiconductor industry, develop and maintain test automation frameworks, scenarios, and scripts, collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure software reliability and performance, integrate testing with CI/CD pipelines, and mentor team members in best practices while promoting an automation-first mindset.
Test Automation & Collaborative Testing: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, architects, and product owners, within an agile/scrum framework to design, develop, and maintain test scripts and frameworks, define acceptance tests, perform exploratory tests, verify requirements, and ensure project scope and quality standards are met. Test Strategy Implementation: Work closely with the Test Architect to implement and execute the overall test vision, strategy and translate test requirements into actionable test plans and test cases. Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): Integrate testing strategy with CI/CD pipelines to ensure automated tests are executed seamlessly as part of the software delivery process, contributing to improved software quality. Non-Functional Testing: Participate in non-functional testing efforts, including reliability, performance, and resilience testing, to ensure our products meet the highest quality standards. Test Documentation: Gather, organize, document and update test requirements, both functional and non-functional, ensuring thorough test coverage. Mentoring and Coaching: Mentor and coach engineering team members on best practices for test automation, sharing expertise and experiences to enhance the team's testing capabilities. Defect Management: Contribute to defect management processes, reporting and tracking defects effectively and working with the team to ensure timely resolution.
To be successful in this role, you bring relevant work and test experience with a passion for testing & test automation. You will be challenged to provide solutions for complex test scenarios and will be working in a multidisciplinary environment.
Bachelors/Masters degree in Engineering Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in software testing in a machine environment. Methodology Proficiency: Proven track record working with various development methodologies, including Agile, Scrum, or V-Model Experience with: Software testing in a machine/multidisciplinary environment Implementation of a test strategy centered around the test pyramid. Test automation frameworks & scripting, Test automation languages, scripts & frameworks (Python, .NET, Robot Framework, Behave, Cypress, etc.) Knowledge of BDD & Gherkin language is good to have. CI/CD pipeline integration & virtualization (Bamboo, Jenkins, VirtualBox, VMware, etc.) Demonstrate an automation-first mindset, proactive attitude, strong communication skills, quality mindset, customer perspective, and a result-driven, can-do mentality.

The Software Department consists of the software development and testing group consisting of 40 engineers who are responsible for the whole of requirements gathering, designing, implementation and testing of new features and functions. The team focuses on designing software to control, support and use our Advanced Packaging and Electronic Assembly machines that are known for their high output at high accuracy.
