Senior Software Test Engineer Job Number: 353096 Category: -Software & Systems SBU Description: A 2nd Shift Software Lab Test Engineer position is available at Belcan in Windsor Locks, CT, supporting DO-178 compliance testing within a collaborative engineering team. To be considered, candidates should hold a BS in Engineering with senior-level experience in embedded software testing for safety-critical aerospace applications. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented Senior Engineer with a strong commitment to quality and precision. Responsibilities include leading validation and verification processes for embedded software, ensuring adherence to DO-178 guidelines, and managing documentation and issue tracking. Additionally, the Senior Engineer will mentor junior team members, sharing expertise on aerospace compliance and testing requirements. This role offers an experienced engineer the opportunity to advance testing methodologies and drive compliance efforts in a key aerospace program. Job duties: · Execute testing procedures to ensure compliance with DO-178 standards. · Mentor Jr team members. · Record and report test results, flagging any inconsistencies or software anomalies. · Participate in team meetings to review test protocols, test status, and system requirements. Basic Qualifications: · Bachelor"s degree in software engineering or electrical engineering with 10+ years of Aerospace industry experience. · Due to the nature of the work performed, U.S. Citizenship is required. · Prior Lab Test Experience · Prior DO-178 Software Qualification Experience Preferred Qualifications: · 3+ years experience with subset of the software lifecycle, including testing/verification & validation · 1+ years experience with embedded software development · Ability/desire to adhere to project software lifecycle processes · Experience with VAX/DCM, ALM, RCS, Synergy, USB Exception, and LGCOMSYS fol · Interpersonal and communication skills · Experience with C/C++ and Python We provide a competitive pay and benefits package.
