The Solution Architect role, within the Solution Architecture team, is to provide architectural leadership of specific capabilities & platforms, to drive the successful delivery of Global or Mission specific architecture within and across Johnson Matthey. Provide leadership and direction in alignment within the JM IT Architecture “home” in relation to those capabilities and platforms.
The Solution Architect evaluates business needs and requirements to review any ‘gaps’ to present capabilities and architecturally design solutions to close these gaps and provide architectural assurance throughout the technical implementation.
Solution Architect Leading on Data & Integration
• Providing Architectural leadership with an Enterprise scope for Data & Integration capabilities.
• Own and create Conceptual Designs to support the Group IT Design Authority Governance process based around material change programmes of work and Design Artefacts.
• Lead on analysis, creation and updating of Capability Models (Business and IT) for the area of architecture leading.
• Develop and maintain Architecture artefacts, including “As-Is”, “Target” and “Reference” Architecture, HLD & LLD, Solution canvas’ and the representation of architecture designs supporting Missions through Architecture governance.
• Ensure solutions align with the organization's technology roadmaps and enterprise architecture principles, standards, and guidelines.
• Understand technical governance and risks to develop reliable solutions which are data secure and compliant through structured analysis of technical issues.
• Facilitate technical discussions and decision-making with the engineering teams to ensure that the solution is feasible, efficient, scalable and contribute to tech simplicity and in reducing complexity.
• Collaborate with the business, Business IT Directors, Enterprise Architects, and IT to understand the business requirements, identify the technical solution, and create the design and architecture that translate technical details into business value.
• Representation of Architecture in governance meetings such as: IT Design Authority, Architecture Review Boards, architecture workshops and team meetings
• Programme ESG/DSG, workshops and team meetings.
Innovation
• Drives the notion of reusable architecture assets and looks for opportunities to collaborate and reuse components by communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Develop systematic knowledge management across lifecycles
• Develop components and frameworks to reuse in terms of software design
• Proven experience in Data & Integration architecture with expertise in Azure cloud services.
• Strong ability to design and maintain architecture artifacts, including HLD, LLD, and Solution Canvas.
• Demonstrated skill in creating secure, scalable, and efficient technical solutions.
• Proficiency in evaluating business needs and addressing gaps through architectural designs.
• Experience collaborating with engineering teams to simplify technology and reduce complexity.
• Knowledge of enterprise technology roadmaps, standards, and governance principles.
• Ability to promote and reuse architecture assets, frameworks, and components.
• Strong communication skills to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively.
The annual salary offered for this position: from €72,500-93,500 Annually. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as candidate’s qualifications, skills, and competencies. This role is also eligible to receive discretionary annual bonus that align with individual and company performance. Other rewards and benefits include the following:
