Senior Spacecraft Communications Engineer

Blacklynx, a Jacobs company, is seeking a talented and motivated Space Communications Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Space Communications Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of communications systems and architectures for classified space systems. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the successful integration and performance of these systems.
Responsibilities:
* Create and develop space communications architectures including ground components to satisfy Government classified missions
* Develop communications requirements for space systems
* Analyze communications components and subsystems to assess applicability to desired outcomes
* Perform communications performance analysis to validate designs
* Ensure communications models are vigorously tested and represent likely outcomes
* Collaborate with other engineers and stakeholders to ensure communications requirements are achieved
* Include affordability considerations when conceptualizing communications architectures
* Support Independent Cost Estimates
* Prepare technical documentation and reports
* Stay current with advancements in communications technologies and methodologies
* Master’s or PhD in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field
* 10+ years in the space communications industry
* Proven experience in the design and development of communications systems
* Analytic expertise for space communications systems
* Experience in cost estimation of space hardware and software
* Experience with US Government Customers and development of classified systems
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
