SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
Reporting to Director, Manufacturing Operations, the Senior Specialist, Continuous Improvement will work as part of the Global Operations Continuous Improvement team and will be responsible for creating and integrating an active continuous improvement culture. The individual will be a knowledgeable and hands-on improvement focused leader, who can effectively deploy Lean manufacturing tools and techniques as well as Six Sigma to achieve results in alignment with business objectives. The individual will successfully collaborate with operations, supply chain, quality, and technical teams in a complex regulatory environment to drive operational efficiency and effectiveness. This will include building new capabilities, increasing business efficiency efforts, re-designing complex processes or working on program management efforts, including standardization, infrastructure and technologies. The Senior Specialist, Continuous Improvement may on occasion be expected to travel domestically and/or internationally.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Primary responsibilities are to:
•    Lead Lean deployment and integration through the LEAD for Lean program in alignment Global Operations vision, plan, objectives and metrics.
•    Drive and implement process, efficiency and productivity improvements positively impacting the Cost Conversion Productivity (CCP) metric.  
•    Effectively deploy Lean methodologies and tools that directly improve the Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Engagement (SQDCE) business results for Global Operations.
•    Lead, facilitate and coordinate deployment of a broad variety of continuous improvements including, but not limited to Kaizen and improvement workshops to develop and improve operational and business processes.
•    Lead and enable others to execute value stream mapping, process mapping, ways of working standard work to reduce waste and cycle times and improve flow and productivity for critical workflows.
•    Lead and be an active participant in projects that include building new capabilities, increasing business efficiency efforts, re-designing complex processes or working on program management efforts, including standardization, infrastructure and technologies.
•    Develop process-owners towards results orientation, problem solving, improvement tool selection and data analysis.
•    Work cross-functionally with plant and functional resources to identify opportunities, engage participation and execute upon opportunities to meet shared goals.
•    Exercise project management skills towards improvement delivery and results and manage the relationship between improvement teams and stakeholders.
•    Assist in the advancement of Lean training, and in the broader understanding and use of daily Lean management and use of Lean tools and techniques.
•    Drive and embody a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
•    Perform any other related duties as required.
•    Work within formal systems, such as cGMP, ISO, CE to ensure that new processes or process improvements are in conformance with compliance requirements.

DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor degree with 5+ years of experience or equivalent education and years of experience
• Master degree with 3+ years of experience or equivalent education and years of experience
• Doctoral degree with 0-2 years of experience or equivalent education and years of experience

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED
Standard office equipment (i.e. computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, flip charts, dry erase boards, other general office equipment).
