The Senior Specialist, Corporate Accounting is responsible for performing various monthly and quarterly financial accounting functions within the Controller’s group. Responsible for maintaining the financial accounting books and records of the parent company and various subsidiaries. Execute internal controls to ensure a SOX compliant control environment. Collaborate with business partners to ensure timely and accurate recording of business transactions. Prepare journal entries and monthly balance sheet account reconciliations

What you have

• Analyzes general ledger and sub-ledger account activity
• Prepares and records monthly and quarterly journal entries
• Reconciles balance sheet accounts and prepares related documentation
• Performs research to support business partner, auditor and/or regulator inquiries
• Assists with special projects
• Prepares business unit level reporting packages for upper-level review
• Maintains process documentation
• Stays current on firm-mandated training topics
• Responds to business partner accounting and reporting needs
• Supports informational needs of Enterprise Finance and Central Planning

 


Required Qualifications:

• Solid understanding of GAAP
• Highly proficient in Excel

• 3 - 5 years of related accounting experience
• Familiar with the capabilities of large-company enterprise reporting systems
• Strong attention to detail and supporting documentation
• Articulates views in a clear and concise manner
• Proactive, results-oriented operating style
• Ability to identify issues and seek resolutions
• Efficient time management skills
• Outstanding at establishing relationships

 


Preferred Qualifications: 
• Public company experience a plus
• Financial services industry experience a plus

• PeopleSoft Financials experience a plus
