**Position Summary**
The inductee will support the administering global export compliance protocols. This will involve capturing relevant European and US federal guidelines and regulations related to export controls, specifically sanctioned and denied parties as well as embargoed countries in and out of BMS IT systems.
Support Sanctioned and Restricted Party Screening processes within SAP GTS and other third-party programs.
Provide support for export transactions escalated to the Corporate Customs & Trade Compliance organization for sanctioned and denied parties, ECCN/Licensing Requirements, proper invoicing and shipping documentation, embargoed countries and more.
Demonstrated commitment to excellence, integrity, and willingness to take ownership and accountability for results.
**Responsibilities**
• Support effective global IT/ERP and non-ERP export compliance operations for all BMS business units
• Support export shipping platform and automation, global license management program in the BMS systems, and Restricted party screening.
• Support the training of team members on the IT processes developed and remain the point of contact for all issues on the system
• May support the identification of controlled articles for export including tangible and intangible goods which are subject to the EAR, ITAR, and other regulations
• Support the implementation of global export compliance processes and policies to all BMS business units
• Assist with providing guidance and direction as needed on Export Compliance Laws and Regulations, including, but not limited to:
o The assignment of Export Control Classification Numbers (ECCN) and Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) Numbers for exports
o Promptly and accurately resolving customer shipment problems.
o Export Administration Regulations (EAR)
o Foreign Trade Regulations (FTR)
o Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC)
o International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
o US Customs and Border Protection (CBP)
• Support self-assessment programs and internal audits of BMS's export compliance program
• Remain current on Export Laws and Regulations with its IT corrolaries and work with sites and other stakeholders to determine business changes required to address new regulations or changes to regulations
• Provide support to other company wide projects or initiatives, as needed
**Required Competencies**
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate ideas, lead and persuade others to accomplish challenging goals and objectives
• Demonstrated project management and team building skills
• Experience in working and building relationships with both internal and external customers and achieving results through influence
• Self-starter and the ability to work independently
• Highly organized, demonstrating attention to details
• Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively
• Strong computer skills. Experienced in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SAP/GTS
• Extensive knowledge of the following areas:
o Product HTS and ECCN classifications, valuation, and Country of Origin determinations for pharmaceutical products
o Government export regulations
o Regulatory & Compliance functions
**Required Qualifications and desired experience**
• Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain or International Trade, preferred - MBA degree a plus
• A minimum of 4 years in IT management in Supply Chain/Finance/Logistics with expertise in SAP development and integration (required)
• Knowledge of European and US Export regulations
• Knowledge Export Controls, Sanctions, Anti-boycott and Restricted Party Screening regulations
• Understanding of global biologics manufacturing, logistics and distribution operations
• Knowledge of export practices in Europe and the United States
• Knowledge and experience in conducting export audits
**Travel Requirements**
Approx. 10% as required for training attendance or delivery

**On-site Protocol**
