The Corporate Communications Sr. Specialist position offers a highly motivated individual the opportunity to experience multiple facets of communications within the external communications team responsible for publicizing the company's business strategy, managing issues & crises, and more. This is not an entry-level position. Responsibilities include news and social media monitoring, research, measurement, analysis and reporting; recommending issues-related social media strategies; planning and executing proactive PR initiatives; and - on occasion - serving as a media spokesperson with local media. This individual must be available and engaged at all times to ensure "always on" news and social media monitoring, and must possess the skills to assemble presentations of data for leadership. The Sr. Specialist must have exceptional writing skills in order to produce press materials in AP style, as well as occasional stories for the company's corporate newsroom.

Direct Manager/Direct Reports:Reports to a Sr Mgr, Corporate Communications
Travel Requirements:Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Physical Requirements:Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions:Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Minimum Qualifications:Must be eighteen years of age or older.Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:Basic responsibilities include proofing and editing company press materials. The Sr. Specialist will manage Corporate Communications vendors, which will include screening new vendor pitches, researching and assessing new services and evolving technologies, and tracking associated budgets. At times, the Senior Specialist will be required to respond to inquiries by the general public on company policies and positions through social media and email.
