This position will guide our financial outlook and assist executive management in making key business decisions through financial planning and analysis. This position entails main responsibilities, which are not limited to month-end closing, monthly forecasting, yearly planning, controllership and extensive application of CO database to provide insight for Executive management and Business Units driving critical business analysis. This role will also be involved with continuous refinement of P&L accuracy in CO module and extensive use of spreadsheet technologies to increase and refine the information used by executive management in making key business decisions.

The Specialist, Financial & Budget Analysis, is accountable for managing standard cost files, developing P&L simulation tools as well as supporting month-end accounting activities.

The successful candidate will be assisting with the organization’s short-term and long-term forecast process and financial reporting. The successful candidate will also be responsible for assisting a detailed analysis of controllable overhead as well as fix cost to ensure organization is operating within its budget.

Role and Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Financial Analysis

Implement solid business planning process across organization to provide executive management with full transparency over Actuals /CMF/ Target / Management Plan / risks and opportunities.Analyze financial forecasts and results to share its impact on business objectives and plans.Manage and refine P&L data accuracy in CO module by implementing updates to cost allocation logics.Maintain and provide key financial performance metrics for SECA business evaluation and employee MBO.Continuous evaluation of potential impact on P&L through business risk assessment and quantification of financial impacts.Extensive use of spreadsheets to develop new tools for analysis and reports for the management.Provide business insight through analyzing financial results and presenting recommendations on future trends and financial forecast and its impact on operational objectives and goals.Establish and maintain linkage across sales and operational departments for more in-depth analysis of financial results.Perform variance analysis and what-if-scenario simulations to identify key variance drivers and provide business insights for financial risks and opportunities for executive management.Implement and manage solid data maintenance framework to ensure controllership over integrity and consistency of financial data across organization.Actively seek opportunities to introduce new value-adding financial analysis tools for use across organization and develop special reporting tools as required by senior executives.Maintain CO and combined profit database in MS Access for internal usersPreparation of ad-hoc reports requested by HQ, NAHQ, and the management.

Financial Reporting

Prepare a full list of all contracts updated in the ECSM system and determine sample sizes by selecting sales contracts during the month.Contact to all contract owners and distinguish if those are newly created or amended during month which will bring attention to summarize detail review of revenue recognition.Based on the initial communication result from all contract owners, the person then conduct a full review of the contracts based on the revenue recognition checklist in accordance with IFRS 15.Identify contract and performance obligation describing the products or services SECA provides under the agreement, expense reimburse condition and warranty period.Determine the transaction price describing order and pricing policy, discount policy, timing of issuance of billing statement, terms and condition of payment.Summarize when to allocate the transaction price (recognize revenue) to each performance obligation whether based on the product delivered or service performed over time.Obtain approval (PUMI) every month from Senior Manager, Financial Planning and Director, Financial Planning summarizing the result of the test control.Perform as key person to closely work with key stakeholders (Internally with Accounting Team, Sales Team and Legal Team, Externally with external auditor).

Skills and Qualifications

Education:

University degree or College equivalent (Commerce, Accounting or BA) preferred.

CPA/MBA preferred or near completion.


​Knowledge:

Bilingual Korean and English, speaking and writing, required

Excellent problem solving skills, logical and innovative thinker.

Ability to work independently and with others in a team environment.

Process oriented, able to meet specific deadlines.

Superior communication skills (both verbal and written).

Demonstrated initiative with proven problem solving skills.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Knowledge of current legislative requirements and CRA regulations an asset.

Strong Microsoft Office skills with emphasis on Advanced Excel skills.


Experience: 

Over 4 years of progressive Corporate Finance and planning role.

Experience with SAP.
