Senior Specialist Internal Communications
**Position Summary:** As a Senior Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting the internal communications team throughout the planning and execution of key campaigns that drive bold storytelling across the enterprise, including our corporate and frontline employees. This role will play an important role in driving new, innovative communications for Nestlé USA’s manufacturing, supply chain, and procurement functions – representing nearly 68% of our total employee base, who do not have access to traditional channels like email, Teams, etc. You will collaborate with cross-functional business teams to develop and implement communication strategies, initiatives, and campaigns that that engage and motivate employees. You will report to the Sr. Communications Manager and be a part of the Internal and Corporate Communications Team. This is a hybrid role working on site in our Arlington, VA office three days per week (Tues, Weds, Thurs). **The primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:** _Internal Communications (80%)_ + Work closely with internal communications managers to effectively drive new employee campaigns in compelling ways. These campaigns will aim to tell our business story, drive culture, and instill pride among our employees. + Bring innovative ideas to enhance our storytelling capabilities. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to continuously improve our internal communications strategies. + Works with Sr. Communications Manager and other stakeholders to identify, develop, and execute overall communications strategies for manufacturing, supply chain and procurement organizations. + Support development of communications materials, including organizational announcements, Quarterly Town Halls, strategic leader communications and select presentations. + Supports strategy to better engage frontline employees with company updates, initiatives, and achievements. + Collaborate with cross-functional teams on One Operations to gather information, stories, and updates for various communication channels. + Support the broader internal communications team by assisting with key communications, including monthly e-newsletters, Town Hall support, and communications related to enterprise-wide brand initiatives. + Partner with other Corporate Communications colleagues to support enterprise-wide storytelling, connecting and collaborating on efforts, helping to ensure cross-team cohesive messages and strategies. _External Communications (20%)_ + Facilitates the identification of local media opportunities and supports the development of media strategies. (Ex. factory anniversary, factory investment, human-interest stories, advanced technology and innovation capabilities, sustainability in operations.) + Supports Sr. Manager of Communications with reactive media inquiries, developing holding statements as needed. **Requirements and Minimum Education Level:** + Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field **Experience:** + 3-5 years of experience in communications + Ideal candidate has internal communications experience with some exposure to media relations + Proven experience in developing and implementing internal communication strategies and campaigns + Ideal candidate has experience with content creation (i.e. video, social assets, ppt etc.) + Previous role(s) at a PR agency and/or consulting firm is a plus, but not required **Leadership:** + Critical/strategic thinking + Ability to handle ambiguity + End-to-end thinking + Strong written communications + Creativity in employee storytelling **Skills:** + Superior communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively tailor and simplify messages to different audiences. + Ability to tell bold, simple stories that move people. + Ability to think end-to-end and provide insights from various viewpoints. + Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. + Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines. + Create and develop innovative ways to communicate initiatives to employees.
