SUMMARY

 

Bering Straits Professional Services, a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation, is currently seeking a qualified Senior Specialty Trainer for Electronic Counter Measures (ECM) instruction. This position will support a Global Peace Operations Initiative (GPOI) security assistance program focused on the Senegalese Armed Forces capacity to prepare, deploy and sustain effective peacekeeping forces versed in the use of ECMs in support of UN and AU Mandated tasks.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position and are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. Other duties may be assigned.

 

The Senior Specialty Trainer for ECM shall be the Team Lead’s principal trainer for ECM instruction conducting training for in support of Senegalese military peacekeepers.

· Act as lead instructor and direct others conducting training to troubleshoot, service, calibrate and maintain ECMs.

· Provide instruction on the application of all required ECM-related capabilities to demonstrate trainee proficiency, including unit validation during field training exercise.

· Provide instruction on set-up, installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of vehicle mounted and man portable ECM

 

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION

· Minimum of ten (10) years military or civilian experience which includes quantifiable experience operating, installing, repairing, and maintaining electronic countermeasure equipment and capabilities at the tactical level.

· Demonstrated experience integrating ECM capabilities with tactical maneuver units.

· Experience as trainer to a foreign security partner with directly related experience in capacity building.

 

NECESSARY PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position requires the ability to maneuver around and see, hear, and verbally communicate with co-workers and contractors. Visual acuity to review written documentation and ability to hear and understand speech at normal room levels.Requires some physical exertion, such as walking over rough, uneven, or rocky surfaces as well as time spent outdoors in extreme temperatures and variable weather conditions. Work can require prolonged standing indoors or outdoors, bending, reaching, and lifting.

 

DOT COVERED/SAFETY-SENSITIVE ROLE REQUIREMENTS

This position is not subject to federal requirements regarding Department of Transportation “safety-sensitive” functions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 

The position is primarily based in Senegal, with training conducted at various military bases and remote locations.The role may require frequent travel, extended hours, and working in challenging environments with limited resources.The work environment is dynamic and requires adaptability, cultural sensitivity, and a strong commitment to the mission of training peacekeepers to effectively contribute to peace and stability.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position may oversee others conducting this specialized training.  

 

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS

As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.
