Cleveland.com is diverse in its content, audience and delivery channels, combining the expertise of our award-winning writing and the creativity of our social media team to present a refreshing, cutting-edge look at news, sports, politics, entertainment and more in Ohio. By a landslide, Sports is our most popular topic on our social media accounts and you will be at the center of it all. You will be at the biggest games and covering the biggest news – from draft picks to records set to coach firings/hirings, and more. Your work will include producing videos pregame through postgame, live broadcasts talking with fans and while out at events, sharing link posts and photos by sports reporters and staff photographers and creating graphic design elements among the many different ways we share news on social media. As a **Senior Sports Social Media Producer and Broadcaster (or Influencer)** with **Cleveland.com and The Plain Dealer** you'll have one of the most coveted jobs in the region – covering all three Cleveland professional sports teams, as well as Ohio State football. You will be responsible for producing and presenting content across all digital and social platforms. You'll use innovative, insightful methods to cover the Browns, Cavaliers, Guardians and Buckeyes and tell stories that are equal parts visual and visionary to engage the fan bases and ignite conversations among them. The job requires working most weekends and evenings given teams’ game schedules. The sports social media producer also supports the social media team by sharing non-sports content to platforms while they are working on nights/weekends. The job includes travel to Columbus for Ohio State games and regionally for select games/events such as the NFL Combine. Also, at times you’ll need to work a general daytime non-sports shift scheduling content to platforms when we’re short-staffed during vacations. The base salary range is $55,000 to $65,000 per year. **What you'll be doing:** + Take a hands-on role in producing social media programming: including overall strategy, assisting with day-to-day posting, community management, editing and optimization of content on multiple social platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, X, TikTok, Threads and Bluesky (formats include graphics, GIFS, short-form videos, text, photos) + Be comfortable in front of the camera hosting live broadcasts with fans talking about games and sports news, as well as live streaming on site at sports events on various social platforms + Source user-generated videos and photos that engage our community and can be shared on cleveland.com and The Plain Dealer distribution platforms + Build creative assets and create copy for various social platforms + Engage the community by creating interactive post ideas and responding to comments and messages on social media + Stay up to date with the latest social media best practices and emerging platforms + Help grow our subscriber base through social media posts that entice followers to want more **Our ideal candidate will have the following:** + A degree in Journalism or Communications or related field preferred. + 5+ years experience in the social media industry for a media publication or brand + Knowledge about the Browns, Cavaliers, Guardians and Buckeyes – both present and historical. + Ability to write accurate, clean, creative, and engaging copy + Strong editorial judgment + Familiarity with social publishing and listening tools like Social News Desk, Dash Social and Google Analytics + Good understanding of social media analytics and experience optimizing content + Experience using photo editing and design tools like Photoshop or Canva is a plus + A collaborative and positive team player with an enthusiastic work ethic + Excellent communication skills and ability to pitch creative ideas + Exceptional organizational skills, focus, and attention to detail + Ability to meet deadlines + This job requires reliable transportation to meet with sources and cover events. **Additional Information** Advance Local Media offers competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package with affordable options for your healthcare including medical, dental and vision plans, mental health support options, flexible spending accounts, fertility assistance, a competitive 401(k) plan to help plan for your future, generous paid time off, paid parental and caregiver leave and an employee assistance program to support your work/life balance, optional legal assistance, life insurance options, as well as flexible holidays to honor cultural diversity.
