At FutureCare the Senior Staff Accountant is the actuary of our Corporate Finance Department and who works in collaboration with our Finance team to maintain financial procedures and confirm financial compliance. Under the direction of the Controller, the Senior Bookkeeper is responsible for FutureCare’s audited year-end financial statements along with quarterly/annual regulatory filings and will provide support with various projects for the Finance department relating to budgetary analysis and business improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities Maintain/update financials with ledgers on a consistent basisAssist with month end closing process including preparing journal entries Prepare financial statements as directedMaintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying and reconciling transactions Research account variances and propose adjustments Maintain detailed workpapers as backup up to the financial statementsPrepare bank reconciliations Support year-end financial statement reporting, audit assistance, and review Maintain records and monitor financial information to ensure compliance conformity with FutureCare’s established organization’s policiesAdhere to the highest standards of confidentiality and integrity when dealing with sensitive data and systems Perform other administrative duties as assigned by supervisor Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred or in lieu of a bachelor’s degree, an additional 3 years of relevant work experience is preferredMinimum 3 years’ private or public accounting or corporate financial experience Must have a high level of experience with general ledgersPrevious experience supporting financial teams in a long-term healthcare facility a plus Initiative and proactive; willing to take on new and challenging assignments Ability to multi-task and support multiple critical functions in a changing and growing environment Strong observation skills and keen attention to detail, ability to audit work to identify issues and implement processes to prevent errors Excellent critical thinking skills with the ability to solve problems using logic and reasoning Ability to communicate and collaborate with other accounting team members, departments, and management In-depth knowledge of financial software applications, databases, spreadsheets, and word processing packages to include Microsoft Office
