Senior Staff Accountant
Description Position Summary: The Senior Staff Accountant will oversee the daily operations of the school's tuition and business offices, handling standard accounting and clerical duties primarily in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. This role is responsible for analyzing financial activities, advising upper management on financial planning, and ensuring accuracy and compliance in all accounting processes. Key Responsibilities: + Manage and direct the day-to-day functions of the school’s tuition and business offices. + Supervise bookkeeping staff to ensure all financial records are reconciled, balanced, and accurately maintained. + Oversee processing of accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. + Utilize accounting software systems, including Gradelink and Power Schools, to manage and record financial transactions. + Reconcile and process monthly health benefit bills and other recurring expenses. + Prepare and submit financial, accounting, and payroll reports upon request. + Maintain and manage payroll records using ADP payroll/reporting system. Qualifications: + Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. + Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a high-demand, high-level office environment. + Advanced computer proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Office Suite with strong skills in Excel. + Proficiency in accounting software and payroll systems, including familiarity with Gradelink, Power Schools, and ADP. Requirements Skills and Competencies: + Solid knowledge of business, budgeting, accounting, and bookkeeping principles. + Strong written and verbal communication skills. + Excellent interpersonal and human relations skills. + Proficient in report preparation, project coordination, and attention to detail. + Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment. + Commitment to confidentiality and maintaining a high level of professionalism. + Demonstrated ability to handle interruptions and manage competing priorities without losing focus on critical tasks.
