Our client, a rapidly growing company in the HVAC sector, is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Staff Accountant to join their finance team. The Senior Staff Accountant will play a pivotal role in managing the company’s financial processes, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and contributing to process improvements. This position is ideal for a candidate who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to take on additional responsibilities in a dynamic organization.
Responsibilities:
+ Oversee and maintain the accuracy of the general ledger by preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and adjustments.
+ Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
+ Manage the month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
+ Reconcile complex accounts, including intercompany transactions, accruals, and fixed assets.
+ Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze financial data for reporting purposes.
+ Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures to enhance internal controls.
+ Support budgeting and forecasting activities, providing variance analysis and insights.
+ Prepare and review schedules for internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with audit requirements.
+ Monitor and manage prepaid expenses, accruals, and other account balances.
+ Support special projects and process improvement initiatives as needed.
Requirements
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
+ 4+ years of accounting experience, with a strong foundation in general ledger and financial reporting.
+ Advanced knowledge of GAAP and financial accounting principles.
+ Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, QuickBooks) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
+ Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
+ Experience in [specific industry, if relevant, e.g., technology, biotech, manufacturing] is a plus.
+ Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
