Job Title: Senior Staff AccountantJob Description
A large organization is seeking an experienced Senior Staff Accountant for its Corporate Accounting operations based in Lenexa, KS. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely accounting operations, participating in the month-end close process, and providing support for external audits, among other duties.
Responsibilities
+ Reconcile sub-ledger accounts to general ledger for all companies.
+ Participate in month-end close process.
+ Prepare and post journal entries and perform general accounting tasks.
+ Conduct research and analytical problem solving.
+ Ensure attention to detail, reliability, and organization.
+ Work independently and in a team environment with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
+ Respond to branch inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
+ Prepare summary financial information and ad hoc reporting for management.
+ Possess good computer skills and demonstrate the ability to learn new computer functionalities.
+ Communicate effectively with others through all methods of communication.
+ Assist with external audits and prepare related schedules.
+ Handle special projects as needed.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
+ Experience with reconciliation, journal entries, fixed assets, and general accounting.
+ Knowledge of public accounting, general ledger, accounting, month-end processes, financial statements, balance sheets, and GAAP.
+ Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
+ Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
+ 5+ years of experience in accounting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ CPA highly preferred.
+ Experience in either public accounting or a large company with high-volume and complex transactions.
Work Environment
The role is 100% in-office, offering a very collaborative and energetic environment. The position reports to the Accounting Manager over the GL/fixed assets team.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $95000.00/yr.
ESOP after 1 year of employmentEmployees are able to contribute 13% of salary to 401K 20-25 days of annual PTO
Workplace Type
This is a fully onsite position in Lenexa,KS.
