Senior Staff Accountant
Position Summary As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing comprehensive financial reports, performing complex account reconciliations, maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, preparing tax returns, and assisting with audit processes. Success in this role requires exceptional analytical skills, proficiency in Excel, and the ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines. This role is instrumental in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), and supporting our organization’s financial stability and growth.   Duties, Responsibilities, and Accountabilities Accounting Functions Coordinate and oversee accounting functions and programs to ensure financial accuracy and efficiency. Prepare and analyze financial reports, including revenue projections and expenditure forecasts. Develop and monitor budgets, providing insights into improved financial performance. Maintain and reconcile balance sheets, general ledger accounts, and other financial records. Assist with the financial aspects of mergers, acquisitions, and onboarding of new business entities. Reconciliation and Compliance  Reconcile accounts, including bank accounts, payroll, and customer accounts, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.  Investigate and resolve discrepancies, audit findings, and issues of non-compliance. Perform monthly revenue recognition and ensure adherence to financial policies. Ensure compliance with GAAP and other relevant regulations through routine monitoring and updates. Lead discussion reviewing monthly financials with business unit leadership. Auditing  Support annual audits by preparing detailed schedules, providing documentation and resolving auditor queries. Address and resolve audit findings, ensuring compliance with recommendations. Prepare and file tax returns with federal, state, and local laws. System and Processes Review, maintain, and enhance accounting systems, policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency. Collaborate with software vendors to optimize accounting software functionality and resolve system issues. Document business processes to strengthen internal controls and maintain consistency across the organization. Regulatory Knowledge and Adaptability Stay current on GAAP, regulatory changes, and financial best practices to ensure compliance and competitiveness. o Adapt to evolving duties and responsibilities to meet organizational needs. Duties and responsibilities may change with or without notice.    Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) Education  Associate’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field. Experience  Minimum of 8` years’ experience in accounting or finance related field. Skills  Working knowledge of tax laws and GAAP Strong financial analysis skills o Works well under pressure and in a demanding environment Ability to train and manage staff o Strong leadership skills. Exceptional understanding of computer systems, specifically MS Excel. Excellent communication and people skills o Meet all physical requirements of the position. Pass all drug and alcohol screens as required by Company policy and, if applicable, required by DOT regulations. 18 years of age or older, or 21 if CDL is required. Legally authorized to work in the United States. Preferred Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.
