Senior Staff Accountant
Description Position Overview: We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Staff Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company’s financial operations. The Senior Staff Accountant will oversee general ledger activities, assist with financial reporting, provide support for audits, and serve as a mentor for entry level accounting staff. This role is ideal for professionals with strong accounting expertise who are eager to contribute to strategic initiatives and process improvements. Responsibilities: Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and company standards Oversee general ledger accounting functions, including reconciliations and month-end and year-end closing processes Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR), ensuring accuracy and timeliness of transactions. Assist in budget preparation and expense management to align with organizational goals. Work closely with external auditors to facilitate audits and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Analyze complex accounting issues and provide recommendations to management. Implement and enforce internal controls to safeguard company assets and enhance operational efficiency. Mentor and guide staff accountants and entry level team members to support their detail oriented development. Collaborate with finance leadership to ensure the seamless integration of ERP systems and financial tools. Stay updated on evolving accounting standards and best practices, ensuring the company remains compliant. Requirements Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or MBA preferred. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, demonstrating strong technical acumen and leadership skills. Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles. Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on collaboration. Experience in industries such as financial services, healthcare, or manufacturing is a plus.
