Senior Staff AI Scientist - USA Remote
The Senior Staff AI Scientist will guide projects and support scientists within the Innovation Catalyst group. This team of machine learning and data science experts is strategically deployed for limited durations to collaborate with subject matter experts at operating companies, developing proof of concepts for innovation ideas. This position is part of the Danaher CDAIO office, reporting to the Senior Director, AI Talent and Innovation, and located remotely. In this role, you will have the opportunity for: + Business Collaboration: Collaborate with subject matter experts at operating companies to understand business needs and conceptualize AI solutions that deliver measurable impacts while managing costs and risks. + AI Solution Development: Design, prototype, and deploy advanced AI solutions to address complex problems at operating companies or across the enterprise. + Data Management: Oversee data acquisition, preprocessing, and exploration to ensure the availability of high-quality data while maintaining data security. + Knowledge Sharing: Document models, workflows, and research findings. sharing knowledge with product and engineering teams at operating companies to ensure the seamless integration of AI solutions into production. + Continuous Learning: Stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI and machine learning, providing guidance and support to team members, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and development. + Mentorship and Development: Provide mentorship and guidance to Data Scientists within the team, fostering their professional growth and enhancing their technical skills and expertise. + Strategic Technology Selection: Lead the evaluation and selection of platforms, tools, techniques, and processes to advance the Data Science discipline, ensuring they align with the organization’s strategic objectives and industry best practices. The essential requirements of the job include: + PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Physics, Applied Math, or a similar quantitative discipline. + 7+ years of industry experience in data science, AI, or a related technical field. + Proven experience in prototyping, building, and deploying AI systems for diverse applications. + Proficiency in Python programming and machine learning frameworks. + Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively across diverse teams and stakeholders. It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in: + Working within the life sciences, diagnostics, or biotechnology industries. + Familiarity with Danaher operating companies and their focus areas. + Strong publication record in top-tier AI conferences and journals. The salary range for this role is $170k-$210k. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
