Researches and compiles complex data, interprets results, conducts data analysis, economic and financial/economic modeling, and literature reviews; develops graphics and presentations to communicate key findings; and produces reports/summaries. Develops reports, special presentations or financial/real estate development related models as assigned. Assists the Chief Economic Development Officer and Assistant Director in the implementation of the economic development strategy by attracting private investment and supporting a wide variety of financial, workforce development, economic, business industry and community projects of medium to high complexity. This position will research and report on local, state, and federal economic, workforce and community development programs and initiatives to encourage growth and private investment as well as create jobs broadly and specifically within local target communities. Additionally, the senior staff analyst will identify industry sectors and clusters positioned for growth and clarify economic and demographic disparities. This position will also assist the Assistant Director in the preparation, coordination and implementation of the annual TIRZ budget process as well as the analysis, review, calculation and payments relating to the Chapter 380 agreements. This role may serve as the key liaison representing the Office of Economic Development to select TIRZs, stakeholder engagement events, public forums, and public meetings. May be requested to represent the CEDO or Assistant Director at council/internal meetings and other work events generally to gather information, present the office’s interest, and report back to leadership. The position serves as a liaison to internal departments, including city council offices, and external organizations/agencies. The position requires the ability to work closely with managers and executive leadership, including city council members to balance multiple projects and deadlines, delegate appropriate tasks to more junior staff, and communicate clearly with both leadership and other team members. WORKING CONDITIONS The position is physically comfortable, the individual has discretion about walking, standing, etc. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Requires a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration or a field directly related to the type of work being performed. Graduate degrees related to the type of work to be performed may substitute for the experience requirement on a year-for-year basis. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Five years of professional administrative, financial or analytical experience related to the type of work being performed are required. Professional experience related to the type of work to be performed may substitute for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.
