As an airline, safety is our most important principle. And our Corporate Safety team is responsible for making sure safety is top of mind in every action we take. From conducting flight safety investigations and educating pilots on potential safety threats to implementing medical programs and helping prevent employee injuries, our team is instrumental in running a safe and successful airline for our customers and employees.
Key Responsibilities:Provides oversight of third party handling of workers compensation claims in certain locations to ensure adherence to United’s service instructions.Provides timely and diligent review of reserve changes and settlements as part of the workers compensation financial control responsibilities.Participates in quantitative audits of third party administrator and ensures implementation of corrective actions and improvement opportunities. Acts as a support to injured employees, the ESC, and other internal and external partners.

Provide timely and accurate review of third party examiner reserve requests. Analyze and assess claim progression and handling to determine appropriateness of financial impact. Act to ensure appropriate controls of claim financials.Ensure compliance to United’s workers compensation service requirements and timely resolution of open claims by third party examiners by leading and / or participating in quantitative audits, litigation reviews, closure projects, and other initiatives as determined by department leaders.Act as support to injured employees by promptly responding to, and resolving any related issues by acting as a liaison to the third party administrator, payroll, ESC, managed care and other stakeholders. Partner with operations leaders to provide expertise and guidance in helping injured workers. Be a ‘go to’ person and subject matter expertise for workers compensation questions.Supervise and monitor the release of privileged and confidential information in accordance with rules and regulations and state statutes.Monitor performance issues of outside vendors, generate reports and make recommendations to management.
