The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.

The GRS Strategy & Corporate Development organization leads the development of the long-term strategy, corporate development, competitive intelligence, and insight processes to catalyze GRS to capture its strategic objectives and build a resilient and agile business that embraces change as opportunity.

 

As a part of the GRS Competitive Intelligence & Strategic Insights team, the Sr Financial Analyst will be responsible for working cross-functionally to gather, analyze, and distribute competitor and market intelligence to support strategic & tactical decision making within Global Risk Solutions. The Analyst will also have the opportunity to flex across the GRS Strategy & Corporate Development department to provide support on high-impact M&A and strategy projects & initiatives. Uses increasing business acumen and analytical expertise to perform ad hoc competitor financial analysis and effectively communicates the findings to management. Shares key insights through presentations, memos, or verbally. Leads efforts to continuously improve processes to increase the speed and effectiveness of financial analysis.

Example Responsibilities:

Participate in key quarterly responsibilities including earnings release summaries, industry market updates, and competitor analysisSupport the creation of internal & external executive-level presentations and memosWork with GRS leadership to establish consistent practices for competitive analysis Work cross-functionally to validate internal information used for quarterly analysisPrepare the President of Global Risk Solutions for semi-annual earnings calls, working directly with GRS leadership to draft potential analyst questions and responsesCollaborate with underwriting leadership on executive & field level deliverablesMonitor industry and competitor news to use in competitor analysis write-ups Learn and understand the strategic rationale, transaction structure, and deal economics for M&A transactionsCollaborate with broader GRS Strategy organization, integrating competitor & market trends into internal strategy setting processSupport the GRS Rating Agency process by collaborating with GRS leadership to gain alignment on messaging and approach

 

*The selected candidate must live within a 50 mile radius of our Boston office. The selected candidate must come into the office two times/week. This policy is subject to change.*

 

Qualifications Bachelor`s degree (Finance or Accounting) is requiredMinimum of 3 years of finance experienceMust demonstrate attention to detail in a fast-paced work environment and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously to drive resultsCommunicates effectively with teammates and others, leading meetings and interacting with increasingly higher levels of management to gather information and effectively present results and recommendationsAdvanced knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Word is preferred
