About this opportunity:

Husky Midstream General Partnership (HMGP) is seeking a Senior Supervisor, Automation, Electrical & Instrumentation to join the team. This role involves leading, mentoring, and coaching the Maintenance Automation, Electrical, and Instrumentation teams, while providing technical expertise for related activities. Responsibilities include preserving, restoring, and enhancing assets in line with HMGP and Cenovus standards, improving work efficiency, controlling costs, and driving continuous improvement.

What you’ll do:

Lead all aspects of three specialized work streams within Husky Midstream: Automation, Electrical, and Instrumentation trades, including a team with 9 direct HMGP reports and 2 service providers

Provides leadership, mentoring and coaching to the maintenance automation, electrical and instrumentation teams to ensure resources are prioritized and work is executed in a timely, cost efficient and safe manner

Ensure asset reliability and availability by implementing preservation plans, and timely executing restoration work orders and that departmental and operational objectives are achieved using weekly and monthly key performance indicators

Support the development of an automation, electrical and instrumentation vision, and strategy to build a top-tier maintenance and reliability team

Ensure Incidents, Near Misses and Hazard Identifications are investigated, reviewed and action items addressed to prevent reoccurrence

Accountable for the development and adherence of the automation, electrical and instrumentation maintenance budget, completing quarterly reforecasts, reporting monthly cost variances and manage resources to adhere to the monthly financial plan

Responsible to support all aspects of staff administration and team health - recruitment, hiring process, onboarding, personal and team development, mentoring, coaching, ongoing training, performance management, approval of hourly staff time sheets, scheduling, and approval of days off, vacations, etc.

Who you are:

Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:

Legally authorized to work in Canada

Bachelor’s Degree, Technical Diploma, or Trades Certificate from an accredited institution, along with a Journeyman trade certificate or professional engineering or professional engineering technologist designation

Minimum of 12 years related automation, electrical, and instrumentation maintenance experience in the oil and gas, petrochemical, pulp and paper, or power generation industries, with at least 7 years in a supervisory role

Strong understanding and experience with maintenance philosophies, standards, strategies, practices, and processes within the energy industry, including solid understanding of applicable Codes, Standards, Regulations, and Acts, as well as plant and production operations experience

Good working knowledge and experience with reliability, operational integrity, and safe work practices, as well as Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) like SAP PM or Maximo, and asset procurement and materials management practices

Strong understanding of operational integrity, reliability, and safety processes and procedures, with a superior safety attitude

As this position has been identified as safety sensitive, employment of a final candidate selected for this position will be conditional upon successful completion of required pre-employment medical and alcohol/drug assessments.

For this position you will be required to maintain a Class 5 driver's license, a satisfactory driving record, and adhere to the appropriate Company policies and guidelines.  A driver's abstract will be one of the background checks requested in the pre-employment screening for the final candidate.
