The Sr Supply Chain Manager reports to the Sr Director of Supply Chain and Operations and is part of the Flow Systems business unit with senior leadership responsibility within the Supply Chain team to ensure material availability, manage inventory and drive continuous improvement

The Sr Supply Chain Manager is responsible for overseeing the Purchasing and Supplier management functions for the Flow System business unit. This role ensures that all aspects of supplier selection, capacity validation and performance management through to material delivery are executed in a manner to achieve our availability and inventory goals.

The Sr Supply Chain Manager is responsible for inventory receipt forecast and ensuring PO placement in alignment with material needs and inventory goals.   They are also responsible to drive efficiency and performance improvement initiatives in the supply chain benchmarking internally and externally to ensure that all processes, tools and systems drive continuous improvement in terms of precision and execution.

The Sr Supply Chain Manager collaborates with various departments, including sourcing, sales, NPD, production, suppliers, Logistics, IT, Engineering and finance, to drive strategic planning and operational excellence.

Key Accountabilities

Sr Supply Chain Manager is responsible to ensure a cohesive and progressive strategy to ensure our planning, supplier performance and forecasting processes support all availability, inventory and cost goals

Directly manage and coach the Flow Systems and Water Distribution Purchasing teams in the US and India enabling them to successfully manage supplier relationship to optimize for delivery execution

Manage the entire purchase supply chain process from demand inception through delivery to final destination ensuring strong visibility and daily standard work to ensure process compliance and on time delivery

Liaise cross functionally to proactively identify supply risks and prevent supply issues

Maintain a strong relationship with the supply base to understand capacity, predict risk and ensure a best in class supply base performance

Manage supplier and buyer KPI's, supplier purchase price variance, inventory turns, and supplier delivery performance.

Lead and manage the purchase receipt and purchase price variance financial forecasts collaborating with Finance and Commodity to ensure timely forecast submission and accuracy

Monitor commodity markets, logistics, and other industry metrics and trends to understand and mitigate risks throughout the supply chain.

Actively participate in new product development projects and proactively coordinate the procurement activities involved within each stage of the Advanced Engineering and New Product Development process

Collaborate closely with sourcing on supplier selection and lead initiatives to analyze and identify supply chain efficiencies

Monitor and track outside processing to identify opportunities for simplification and drive supply chain initiatives to support execution

Ensure that processes to expedite purchased goods, revise purchase orders, effect cancellations, improve terms, resolve disposition of rejected goods and rework costs, adjust invoice discrepancies and rectify other related problems, are executed by all team members, personally intervening as needed, to ensure strong say-do execution on all aspects of supply chain performance

Coach, mentor and develop direct reports ensuring that they are meeting and exceeding their performance standards and progressing on their career development journey; Maintain a positive team culture in a fast paced, high stress environment

Champion continuous improvement, development of standard work to enable process simplification, and adoption of automation solutions to standardize purchasing processes and performance oversight

Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Collaborate with supply chain and operations to develop dashboards on key analytics and support timely decision-making reducing dependence on offline tools

Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Math, Statistics, Economics or other related field. or relevant experience

Proven experience in leading teams (both in person and remote)

Proven history driving successful supplier performance

Inventory Management certification a plus (APICS / ISM)

Demonstrated history of completing complex analytics to drive decision-making and presenting findings/recommendations to senior leadership

5+ years’ experience in leading planning / forecasting / supply chain

Knowledge of ERP systems (Enterprise Resource Planning)

Strong skillset to lead and facilitate meetings with a diverse audience, quickly synthesizing information to help drive consensus and actionable items

Working knowledge of demand planning / forecasting / inventory management software

Highly Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel

Prioritizes workload and maintains accuracy in all work while managing multiple tasks / projects with adherence to critical deadlines
