About this opportunity:

We are seeking a senior software developer with expertise in the 5G Core Network, particularly in Packet Core Firewall, and a strong passion for developing new functionalities related to 5G mobile data processing. This role will involve programming open-platform, real-time, and high-availability systems.

What you will do:

You will collaborate with a multi-functional team to develop new functionalities for the 5G User Plane. This involves participating in the full software feature lifecycle, from analyzing the solution and setting requirements in the early phases, to coding, testing, and deploying the software on live networks, while providing support to customer teams. You will be part of a multinational organization with teams located in Spain, Sweden, and China.

The skills you bring:

A bachelor’s, master’s, or doctorate degree in computer science, telecommunication engineering, or a related fieldProficiency or willingness to learn programming of open-platform, real-time, and highly available systems, as well as scriptingProficiency in C programming and at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, shell/bash) on UNIX/LinuxSolid knowledge of TCP/IP networking, IP-based applications (e.g., HTTP, HTTPS), and securityAbility to investigate and debug complex issues, including performance tuning, troubleshooting, and core dump analysisFamiliarity with cloud-native software stacks and execution environments, including containers (e.g., Docker)Knowledge of operating system architectures and the ability to model scalable designs and solutionsExcellent written and spoken English, with confidence in working in international environments

Advanced Linux user and network administrator skillsExperience in configuring network equipmentKnowledge of 4G/5G mobile network architecture, interfaces, protocols, and functionsProficiency in C++ and/or GolangUnderstanding of link-layer protocols, such as ARP, ND, and BFD (Routing and L2-L4 protocols)Work experience in networking and security products, such as routers (including BGP/OSPF), Carrier Grade NAT, or Firewalls

We are looking for a talented candidate who is willing to work in a flexible environment, combining remote work and in-office presence in Madrid (50%).
