DESCRIPTION:

The Sr. System Administrator is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of Black Construction Company’s technological infrastructure, including systems hardware and software, data security, data center operations, physical servers, virtual servers, SAN, databases, secure user access, patch management, and endpoint security. The role is responsible for proactively monitoring and managing core servers, storage systems, and data center technologies to ensure the highest possible levels of uptime and system performance.  This role operates in a dynamic and challenging work environment with state-of-the-art technology that supports geographically dispersed offices, remote end users, and seven-day-a-week operations.

 

Job Responsibilities:

·         Manage availability, performance, and scalability of client-facing applications in the data center.

·         Manage and maintain Active Directory and Group Policy elements, enterprise storage (SAN), enterprise backups, offsite storage, and the corporate Exchange server.

·         Administrate the cloud file-sharing platform and integration with network file shares.

·         Perform security updates on Windows Servers and desktops.

·         Manage desktops, applications, and security updates utilizing Microsoft Systems Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and MS Intune.

·         Perform after-hours operating system updates and maintenance.

·         Manage and configure VMware, Hyper-V, and Citrix virtualized environments.

·         Proactively monitor and perform troubleshooting to diagnose and isolate computer systems problems and minimize downtime.

·         Ensure the highest level of system and data security, including user access, remote access, email protection, web security, and data center physical security.

·         Maintain the disaster recovery infrastructure, including backups and snapshots, to ensure business continuity in the event of a localized failure, including regular tests of fail-over and recovery protocols.

·         Assist with technology planning.

 

Job Qualifications:

·         At least 5 years of system administration experience.

·         At least 3 years experience troubleshooting, operating, and maintaining endpoint security such as malware detection and mitigation.

·         Experience in a Large Enterprise and\or Construction environment is strongly preferred.

·         Expert knowledge of virtualization technology and concepts.

·         Demonstrated experience Windows operating systems to include Windows 10 and 11, Server 2012, Server 2016, Server 2019, and future versions.

·         Experience with the installation and configuration of VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, and Citrix XenServer.

·         Experience with automated patch management.

·         Strong documentation and/or technical writing skills, ability to author reports, guidelines, and procedure manuals.

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills - a skilled business professional who communicates effectively with all levels of end-users and management.

·         Detail-oriented and ability to work independently or as part of a team.

·         Ability to use good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

·         Can manage multiple tasks at the same time and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

·         Proven analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities.

·         Excellent customer service skills and the ability to collaborate well with people from many different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience.

·         Knowledge of CMMC (Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification) is a plus.

Education:

·         Associate / Bachelor’s / Master’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline is preferred.

·         System Administration/System Engineer certification in Microsoft.  (MCSA or MCSE)

·         Server/Application virtualization certifications in VMware and Citrix or equivalent experience required.

 

Expected annual salary for this job is dependent on experience.
