Your Role at Baxter

The Technical Communication team at Baxter Front Line Care in Skaneateles, NY is looking for a new team member with technical writing and editing, translation management, and CCMS management skills. The workload is estimated to split evenly between writing/editing and translation/CCMS management.

This position supports the configuring, implementing, training and supporting the Front Line Care MadCap IXIA CCMS alongside our lead CCMS administrator. The position may also be assigned a project management role for new implementations and special projects, like pilots in other business units to scale the system. This position is also responsible for the development of functional specifications and testing of development projects as assigned by the manager.

Implement, configure, and support the CCMSPrepare implementation plans for CCMS prospectsDevelop and enhance documentation to support CCMS usageTrain Tech Comm team members and prospective users on CCMSUpdate stylesheets and DTDsPerform data analysis on system metricsConvert non-XML content to XML for CCMSManage translation shopping carts and purchase ordersPrepare and manage outgoing/incoming translations for the CCMSCreate, develop, write, and edit operational and instructional documents to support the end-users of company products; ensure that documents conform to existing department style guidelines and quality assurance standards.Conduct interviews with technical staff and other functional groups to gather information for projects while managing the creation, review, and final updates to deliverables.​Revise existing documents to support product changes.Participate in peer reviews of individual work and that of other team members.Prepare translation requests with a complete list of target languages.Create a LIT spreadsheet detailing project deliverables and their relationships to one another, share this with the specialist responsible for release of literature, and archive the LIT spreadsheet on the team’s SharePoint site.Explore opportunities for using approved Generative AI tools to support standard work.

What You'll Bring

Master’s degree in Information Technology or Systems Management preferred.Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication or related field of study is preferred.5+ years of experience in technical writing.Proven writing and editing skills, with excellent attention to detail.Proven ability to adjust writing style and content according to audience needs, including clinicians/operators, technicians and engineers, and patients or home users.Proficiency with commonly used XML authoring and non-XML publishing tools (oXygen, Adobe Technical Communication Suite, Adobe InDesign, Adobe PhotoShop).Proficiency administering a CCMS.Working knowledge of Technical Communication practices, techniques, and standards.Familiarity with document production processes for print, CD, and web-based publication.Aptitude to work with numbers and a high volume of data.Aptitude to understand and manipulate XML code.Commitment to collaboration and open communication with manager and team.

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $80,000 to $110,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
