Senior System Operations Engineer

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior System Operations Engineer. This position performs moderate to medium complex system admin support for Unix/Linux Application Platform servers located in Wells Fargo Data Centers. Functions include Execution of moderate to medium level service request, change request, incidents and problem tickets, apply OS patches to servers to remediate risk, meet SLAs, compliance requirements, timely and accurate completion of time tracking records and training. Attend and participate in division, group, and department meetings. This position will create and update documentation for team activities and follow process to execute work, scripts, and perform troubleshooting.  This position will participate in on call rotations and weekend coverage.  

 
In this role, you will:

Lead or participate in managing all installed systems and infrastructure within the Systems Operations functional areaContribute to increasing system efficiencies and lowering the human intervention time on related tasksReview and analyze moderately complex operational support systems, application software, and system management tools to ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availabilityWork with vendors and other technical personnel for problem resolutionActively lead the team to meet technical deliverables while leveraging solid understanding of technical process controls or standardsCollaborate with vendors and other technical personnel to resolve technical issues and achieve highest levels of systems and infrastructure availabilityExecute incident, problem, change, and release management across a wide range of applications and technologiesDrive remediation activities, run incident conference calls, and provide status on active issuesDrive root cause identification and preventative actionsWork with vendors and vendor products to troubleshoot issuesIdentify gaps and single points of failure in current technology process or designCreate, update, and maintain all aspects of application specific troubleshooting documentation and runbooks along with training/knowledge transfer to other team membersIdentify and develop automation for repetitive tasksEnsure quality, security, and compliance requirements are met for supported areaExecute daily maintenance tasks and proactive review of the production environmentWork incident, problem, and request ticket queues to ensure all tickets are completed on time and to satisfaction


Required Qualifications:  

4+ years of Systems Engineering, Technology Architecture experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education4+ years of Red Hat Linux or UNIX experience4+ years of technical troubleshooting experience4+ years of experience with patching methodology and configuration

2+ years of ServiceNow experience2+ years of process definition and documentation experienceKnowledge of Scripting and automation experience (Ansible)Knowledge of data center equipment (Server, Storage, Network)Knowledge and understanding of virtual environmentsKnowledge and understanding of SAN (Storage Area Network)Knowledge and understanding of Business Continuity Planning (BCP) in a large environmentExperience determining the root cause of identified issuesKnowledge and understanding of technology support: system implementation and production support in a large Enterprise (5,000+ servers)Knowledge and understanding of technology support: large information technology (IT) environment, multiple computing environments, operating systems, and hardware platformsStrong, clear, and concise written and oral communication skillsAbility to interact with a diverse teamSelf-start with ability to continuously develop skills staying current with technology trends.
