NetImpact Strategies is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to join our team, in support of a federal client onsite in Bethesda, MD.

Senior Systems Administrator will have expertise in managing and optimizing complex IT infrastructures. He should be proficient in configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting a wide range of systems, networks, and servers across various environments (on-premises, cloud, hybrid). He must be skilled in systems automation, performance monitoring, disaster recovery, and ensuring high availability, he should also have strong knowledge of security best practices, patch management, and IT compliance. Known for excellent problem-solving abilities and leadership skills, he should take a proactive approach to identifying and resolving system issues to enhance operational efficiency. 

Responsibilities: 

System Installation, Configuration, and Maintenance: Install, configure, and maintain operating systems (Windows, Linux, Unix) and servers across on-premises and cloud environments. Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement performance tuning to ensure high availability and efficiency. System Security Management: Implement security measures including firewalls, encryption, access controls, and regular system patching to protect systems from vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with security standards. Backup and Disaster Recovery: Oversee backup processes, perform regular data restores, and ensure disaster recovery plans are in place and tested to guarantee business continuity. Automation and Scripting: Develop and implement scripts and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python) to streamline administrative tasks, improve efficiency, and reduce manual errors. Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Act as the escalation point for system-related issues, troubleshooting hardware, software, and network problems, and providing timely resolutions. Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with network engineers, developers, and security teams to ensure systems are integrated effectively and meet organizational needs. System Upgrades and Patching: Manage system upgrades, patches, and version control to ensure that systems remain up-to-date and secure. Documenting Systems and Processes: Create and maintain detailed documentation on system configurations, processes, and procedures to ensure clear knowledge transfer and compliance. Lead and Mentor Junior Administrators: Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to junior systems administrators, helping them grow their technical skills and supporting team development. Implement and maintain security protocols in alignment with CompTIA Security+ and Assured Compliance and Assessment Solution (ACAS) standards, ensuring the protection and compliance of telecommunications systems within a military medical environment.  Ensure optimal system performance through proactive monitoring, regular system audits, and prompt resolution of technical issues, reducing downtime and maintaining high availability of critical communication infrastructure.  Qualifications

 Preferred:

Master’s Degree/and or Equivalency (Bachelor’s degree+ (2) additional YOE/ HS Diploma + (6) additional YOE).  CompTIA Security +, Assured Compliance and Assessment Solution (ACAS), and Microsoft Windows Server 2022 certified with five (5) years of practical experience in a production environment or at the discretion of the government based on excess work experience.  

 Preferred:

Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Certifications (e.g., MCSA) Previous Federal Consulting Experience
