We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Systems Engineer – Mars Architecture Team Concept Study to join the team. 

As a Senior Systems Engineer – Mars Architecture Team Concept Study, you will work with NASA JSC Engineering's EX2 Branch to define NASA's future exploration architecture and elements for Mars exploration. This team uses NASA's framework and architecture for future human exploration as a starting point for future studies.  This team studies surface systems, future habitats, and all aspects for future Human Mars missions.


This work may include\:

Develop concepts and define future human space exploration vehicles and missions
Mars surface exploration campaigns and future long term Mars surface missions will also be studied and developed
Develop and evolve conceptual vehicles by working with multi discipline teams in a highly collaborative environment
Work on architecture definitions and functional flows
Work on requirements definition, flow-down, assessment
Work on trade studies and stakeholder reviews
Summarize architecture study/trade study outcomes and present recommendations to NASA leadership
Work in a team environment and report to the team lead to provide status on progress and issues and for support
Maintain a professional relationship with the NASA customer and other NASA support contractors Perform other duties as required *

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).

Equipment and Machines

Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).

Attendance

Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.

Professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.
