Senior Systems Engineer - Storage and Backup

About the Team

You will be part of the Technical Infrastructure team responsible for designing, building, and delivering key technical building blocks such as Storage, Backup, Servers, Containers, Networking, Voice, Databases, Data Centers, Service Desk, Monitoring tools and Log and Metric Analysis platforms. Our job is to ensure that every customer has the best experience possible utilizing the vast array of technical solutions we provide.

About the Role

You will be providing Level 3 support to Storage and Backup environment. You will provide engineering and administration support on multiple OS platforms in a multi-vendor environment, while working closely with architecture, application development, database, server, and networking teams. In addition, you will continuously participate in developing, defining, and simplifying processes to improve services. For new initiatives or critical upgrades, you will work closely with Business/Application Development & Engineering teams during project analysis and design phases and with the Operations team during the implementation and post go-live support. Our job is to ensure that every customer has the best experience possible utilizing the storage and backup solutions we provide.

Design, implement, manage and maintain storage solutions Leads and participate in installation and configuration activities of storage and backup systems. Provision and decommission storage in accordance with documented procedures Managing and troubleshooting NFS exports and CIFS Shares Supports resolution of production support incidents Troubleshoots issues across development, test and production systems Routinely monitors all systems within the storage and backup domain Performs systems resource optimization activities Participates in systems management, and security compliance activities Oversees monitoring, system access and configuration management Understanding of application /database design & integration with storage systems Identifies automation opportunities by communicating and collaborating with the team Researches and recommends automation and monitoring tools Develops and maintains procedures and storage system documentation Create Knowledge Base articles of operational tasks to streamline support and empower first and second level support to resolve issues Document the design, operation and troubleshooting of technology platforms and procedures Researches new technologies and processes Participates in On-Call rotation support

Qualifications/Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Computer sciences, Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience 5+ years of production support experience in Storage & Backup Administration Expert level knowledge of large-scale Storage Area Network & Systems (NetApp, EMC, HP, IBM & Brocade) SAN / Storage Administration certification Advanced to expert knowledge of technologies such as operating systems (AIX, Linux, Windows, VMware)

The expected starting pay range for this position is $105,000 - $135,000 annually. Applicable pay ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. In addition to competitive pay, compensation may include a variety of other components like benefits, paid time off, merit, and bonus opportunities.
