Senior Systems Engineer

DEKA Research & Development, located in Manchester, NH, is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join a multi-disciplinary team for a medical device product development program. This exciting opportunity as a Senior Systems Engineer at DEKA will have a direct impact on the overall success of the project for an innovative and life-changing product. 

A day in the role of a Senior Systems Engineer:

Overall electro-mechanical system architecture design, system specifications and upper-level design descriptionsDefining critical interfaces between subsystems and leading subsystem team leads in the integration of sophisticated software-driven electro-mechanical devices to ensure proper system functionSystem level test strategy, test specifications and protocolsHazards analysis, failure modes analysis and mitigation designSupporting program management to drive design goals within the entire project team; design goals may include product cost, size, weight, durability, manufacturability, and serviceability, among othersSupporting the development of project plans by estimating the effort required to complete design tasksProviding guidance to manufacturing process development including process development, PFMEA review, and manufacturing test criteria

What are we looking for in a Senior Systems Engineer?

MS/BS in Engineering with 5-10 years' experience in electro-mechanical machine and/or product designDemonstrated experience in new product development environments including embedded software, complex mechanical systems, and electronics (PLC a plus)Demonstrated technical leadership skillsDemonstrated history of inventive solutions to technical problemsExperience with requirements definition and management for performance, standards compliance, and testingExperience with innovative first-generation product development, preferably in the medical device marketExperience with product testing, experimental methods and statistical techniquesKnowledge of manufacturing processes a plusPrior experience with disposable products a plus
