GDIT is seeking a Sr Systems Engineer to join our team. Responsibilities include designing, planning, and evaluating physical security systems in accordance with Department of State policies and procedures. Provides innovative methods and technical solutions using the engineering design process, including documentation.
Develops advanced technical solutions for the management of networks, software, hardware, configurations, and architectures
Troubleshoots highly complex system hardware and software issues
Develops training materials for end users on the proper use of hardware and software
Develops implementation plans for software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages
Monitors and tunes systems to achieve optimum performance levels
Ensures workstation/server data integrity by implementing standard software and hardware solutions
Leads efforts to ensure data/media recoverability by following a schedule of system backups and database archive operations
Conducts advanced hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines
Develops performance and security plans for computers that meet the needs of network users
Evaluates existing systems and plans long-term strategies
May coach and provide guidance to less-experienced professionals
May serve as a team or task lead

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering or similar discipline and 10+ years of related technical security experience or the equivalent combination of education/training and/or experience.
DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification - Security+ CE, ISC2 SSCP desired
User level proficiency of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCAD/Visio) preferred
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Minimum Secret level clearance issued by the Defense Security Service (DSS), Department of Defense (DoD) prior to contract performance
Preferred Certifications
DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification - Security+ CE, ISC2 SSCP desired

15% travel may be required in support of contract
International travel may be required
The likely salary range for this position is $127,500 - $172,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.Scheduled Weekly Hours:
