Senior Systems Engineer
Amentum is currently seeking a **Senior Systems Engineer** to support the Virginia and Columbia Class Submarine Change Control Task at NUWC Division Newport, RI. **Essential responsibilities:** + You will attend meetings to glean planned updates for New Construction submarines during construction phases for COATS, Dockside, and PSA. Enter updates into the Change Management Database maintained on AIMTC, a NUWC website. + Track NBCRs for New Construction updates. Assess each applicable NBCR to identify the updates as Functional, Interface, and/or Physical and entering this information on the applicable Subsystem Summary sheet in the Change Management Database. + Support Payload Integration Team meetings to obtain data on new payloads to be introduced on submarines and use this information for updates to the Change Management Database. + Contact Subsystem Matter Experts to gain future update plans for newer submarine platforms. + Brief Change Management status at a weekly CPIT meeting to update the Program Office and the Ship Builder. **Common Submarine Functional Requirements Document (FRD) development and maintenance support tasks will include:** + Generate new draft for review identifying next submarine block/build procurement with new and updated functional requirements. + Distribute versions of the FRD for review and comment cycles to obtain a final clean copy. + During review and comment, enter comments into an Access Comment Database for tracking and adjudication. + Enter an initial response for each comment that either agrees or disagrees with the submitted comment. + For comments not easily adjudicated, support a Change Control Board (CCB) meeting called by the Program Office. + Using adjudicated comments, update the FRD and once final submit for Program Office signatures followed by a NAVSEA N97 approval letter. **Minimum Qualifications:** + Must have an Active Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to maintain a Secret Clearance. + Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering or related discipline. + 7 years recent and relevant experience. + Be knowledgeable with Microsoft Office Products, especially Excel and Access. + Working knowledge of Virginia Class Submarines Non-Propulsion Electronic System. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Worked or served aboard Virginia Class Submarines in the navigation, communications, or combat systems electronics field.
