Security Clearance:
Applicant must be eligible to hold an active Department of Defense (DoD) SECRET personnel security clearance.
Responsibilities:
Provide engineering support from a systems perspective for C4N and electrical tasks.Serve as main interface point for the Government to provide engineering tasking for completion. Plan and track technical engineering tasking. Lead a team of other engineers, mentor them, and guide workflows.Conduct work on the full Systems Engineering "V" including requirements definition and analysis, architectural design, design implementation, design integration, and verification and validation activities.Develop solutions to emergent engineering issues, prototyping and testing those solutions, and assisting with TDP and ECP development.Conduct analysis of alternatives for potential solutions to system issues and enhancements to provide recommendations for Government approval.Simulate the design at various levels to include Computer Aided Design (CAD) modeling for all system and subsystem components.Ensure external interfaces match the specification, including voltage level and timing.Additionally, provide support in areas such as:Ultra-High Frequency (UHF) /Very High Frequency (VHF)/High Frequency (HF) communication systems.Navigation requirements.Network systems.Modbus and Modbus Transmission Control Protocol (TCP).Controller Area Network bus (CANbus).Integrated Flight Control Systems.Fly-by-wire control systems.The application of sensor technologies in military applications.The latest embedded architectures used by industry.Applied systems engineering in the application of marine and aircraft state-of-the art systems engineering disciplines to the system design.Developing embedded systems that meet environmental requirements for military use.Development of embedded systems using Versa Module Europa (VME), CompaqPCI, PC-104, and small form factor black box architectures.Using the MIL-STD-1553C interface.Coordinating the development of Printed Circuit Board designs.Electronic Actuators / PLCs / Controllers.Experience Requirements:
At least eight (8) years of progressive experience in applied engineering, with demonstrated experience in the application of marine or aircraft systems engineering disciplines. Experience should include:Command & Control, Computers, Communications, Navigation, and/or Electrical disciplines.Integration of components within a system, or a system of systems.Developing systems that meet environmental requirements for military use.At least six (6) years of experience developing embedded systems using architectures such as Versa Module Europa (VME), CompaqPCI and PC-104.Experience obtained in US Navy, Coast Guard, Air Force, or other DoD environments is highly preferred.Educational & Certification Requirements:
Bachelor of Science degree in electrical, computer, systems, mechanical, industrial, or marine engineering from an accredited college or university.In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree in an applicable discipline, relevant technical experience obtained in a US military/DoD environment may be considered.
An ideal candidate will possess one or more of the following certifications or similar professional certifications/credentials:International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP)Object Management Group (OMG) Certified System Modeling Professional™ (OCSMP™) Model Builder – IntermediateThis position is part of the Navy’s Cybersecurity Workforce (CSWF) and designated as a Systems Developer (632) Advance level.
