Amentum is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join our engineering team in Dahlgren, VA. Like learning about new systems and leading-edge weapon systems capabilities? Along the way, advise the Government by supporting development of new concepts and technologies and new Fleet capabilities. Help support to the Navy's new system. **Senior Systems Engineer Responsibilities Include:** + Providing Systems Engineering support for the evaluation of new concepts and designs for SLBM groups at NSWCDD supporting Strategic Systems Programs. + Performing a range of analysis or review tasks related to new designs and implementations of the Fire Control System for SLBM. + Coordinating and work closely with other engineering and management disciplines to support design reviews. + Developing, maintaining and producing technical documentation and design artifacts. + Direct interfacing and liaising with customers at all levels, providing systems engineering support. + Verifying and complying with engineering documentation standards related to SLBM Developments. + Performing all other position related duties as assigned or requested. **Minimum Qualifications:** + Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline, or four (4) years of a demonstrated knowledge base and subject matter expertise relevant to specific technical disciplines of the PWS, including the qualifications below; or US Naval operational experience at the E7 level or higher. + In addition, six years of engineering experience with a DoD major weapon, combat, and/or fire control systems program. Experience in concept definition, DoDAF compliant architecture development, requirements definition, and initial and detailed system design activities. + Systems engineering experience focused on requirements development and management of software systems. This includes experience related to the identification, analysis, and documentation of complex systems involving DOD weapon, combat, and/or fire control systems. Two years of concurrent experience with Navy surface or submarine shipboard weapons, combat, and/or fire control systems to include current Navy programs such as SLBM and Aegis. + Must have an Active Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to maintain a Secret Clearance. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Experience working with Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) or other SLBM organizations + Experience working with managing software developments for major weapons system.
