Description We are offering a contract for a permanent position as a Senior Systems Engineer in Dallas, Texas. This role involves working within our Enterprise IT Operations Organization, supporting infrastructure components, including virtual platforms both on-premise and cloud-based. The Senior Systems Engineer will interface with multiple departments, leading discussions on infrastructure issues and projects, and liaising with stakeholders to ensure requirements are translated into deliverables. Responsibilities: • Liaise with stakeholders to clarify requirements and translate them into infrastructure services deliverables • Support the 24/7 support model through an on-call support rotation and partnership with the offshore Shared Services team • Provide high-tier support for infrastructure issues, accepting and processing tickets logged via the Service Management platform ServiceNow • Ensure the consistent, efficient, secure, and current operation of infrastructure systems • Support corporate, regional, and divisional business units' requirements • Ensure that infrastructure implementations comply with all IT controls related to areas of responsibility • Play a key role in defining and maintaining proper documentation • Propose solutions to identified infrastructure issues to management and implement as directed • Resolve performance issues associated with the enterprise IT infrastructure • Lead the evaluation and identification of enterprise system specifications utilizing industry best practices and the proper use of technology and applications architecture • Support IT management with technology decisions. Requirements • Demonstrated experience in Documentation, effectively recording all relevant system details and changes • Proficiency in IT Operations, ensuring smooth and efficient daily operation of systems • Ability to Implement Strategies that enhance system performance and reliability • Strong Troubleshooting skills, capable of identifying and resolving system issues promptly • Expertise in Networking, ensuring secure and effective communication between systems • Experience working with Stakeholders, effectively liaising with various business units • Knowledge of Cloud Technologies, including Microsoft Azure and VMware • Familiarity with Monitoring Tools to oversee system performance and identify potential issues • Adherence to Best Practices in system management and operation • Experience with system Upgrades, ensuring minimal disruption to operations • Ability to accurately develop and interpret system Specifications • Experience with system Migration, ensuring smooth transition with minimal data loss • Proficiency in Operating Systems, particularly Windows OS • Knowledge of Backup Technologies to safeguard data • Ability to deliver on Deliverables, meeting project timelines and expectations • Experience with system Deployments, ensuring successful implementation and operation • Familiarity with the daily operation of health insurance systems • Experience working with offshore teams, coordinating efforts across different locations • Ability to liaise effectively with various teams and stakeholders • Proficiency in VMware and other virtualization technologies • Understanding of SOX - Sarbanes-Oxley compliance requirements.
