Develops software system testing, validation programming, or documentation. Modifies existing software to correct errors, adapt it to new hardware, upgrade interfaces, and improve performance. Modernizes core enterprise recordkeeping capabilities. Performs data engineering and Test Driven Development (TDD). Participates in experimentation on emerging technologies or advanced concepts within varying technologies.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Analyzes information to determine, recommend, and define strategies to build a robust Cloud-based solution for obsolete Defined Contributions Recordkeeping systems.

• Collaborates with Data Architects, Business Leads, and Operational Heads to refine and evolve resilient data platforms.

• Participates in large volume data implementations, data analysis, and application platform development for a global customer base.

• Build artifacts using industry best practices to ensure smooth data flow for a daily load of millions of rows without any code breakage and performance issues.

• Coordinates software systems deployment to higher environments for capability teams, and coordinates with support teams responsible for installs and post-production support.

• Drafts business value-oriented user stories and facilitates Agile ceremonies.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Systems Engineer (or closely related occupation) working to deliver software applications in AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, Datadog, Jenkins, Python, shell scripting, uDeploy and networking (AVI, F5) and other cloud environments.

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Systems Engineer (or closely related occupation) working to deliver software applications in AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, Datadog, Jenkins, Python, shell scripting, uDeploy and networking (AVI, F5) and other cloud environments.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

• Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) performing provisioning of public Cloud resources using IAAC tools — Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud formation, Hashicorp Terraform, Route 53, and AWS auto scaling; and automating system administration and application functions in Cloud, using Shell, Python, GO, and critical infrastructure.

• DE providing installation and upgrade support to development teams during migration of on-premise, in-house, and vendor-based applications to AWS Cloud platforms; performing down and up scaling, using AWS services — Elastic Cloud Compute (EC2) and Auto Scaling Groups; and building performance data dashboards and application performance monitors, using Splunk and Datadog.

• DE writing scripts to accomplish workflow automation, using Python and PowerShell; performing process automation using Ansible and Rundeck; and integrating data and process flows with on-premise APIs for reporting and data management.

• DE troubleshooting production incidents, using Web and desktop-based client applications hosted on-premise and on public Cloud platforms; scripting and executing stored procedures or functions in Oracle and Snowflake databases; performing deployment management using Udeploy, Jenkins, and Concourse; performing deployment management integration using HashiCorp and Vault; and utilize EKS Connect and Kconnect to manage EKS cluster and validate applications and configurations, troubleshooting any issues using kubectl commands and Fly to interact with concourse pipelines to build, modify or delete pipelines.
