Senior Systems Engineer
**Description** SAIC is seeking an experienced **Senior Systems Engineer** , with signals intelligence experience, in support of the U.S. Army Comat Capabilities Development Command (CCDEVCOM), Engineering and Systems Integration (ESI) Directorate, Quick Reaction Capability (QRC) Branch (C5ISR-QRC). The goal of the C5ISR-QRC is to research and develop technologies that enable systematic processes for discovering, selecting, organizing, distilling, sharing, developing and using information to better understand the enemy and the enemy’s environment during full-spectrum operations and provides advanced collection capabilities with the flexibility to address changes in the operational environment and signatures of interest to develop situational awareness by acquiring precise and timely information. **This position is on-site on the Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD** . **Responsibilities** : + Provide engineering support from the inception of design to the final production release, including prototype fabrication; Validation and Verification; Onsite testing; Drawing revisions and updates; First Article Test and Inspection; and Quality Assurance + Assess emerging requirements and develop technical concepts/implementation plans to rapidly meet organizational priorities and program objectives within a dynamic environment + Develop solutions in a systems integration laboratory (SIL) environment, and perform mechanical design, development, and documentation of components, sub-assemblies, and major end items for defense system equipment in accordance with system requirements + Perform hands-on integration of equipment in an all-weather environment + Conduct use and site investigations to secure necessary data for studies and designs + Interface with other engineering disciplines, non-technical disciplines, and suppliers to develop design solutions and resolve technical challenges + Review engineering design proposals, design drawings, specifications and other technical document submissions and recommend improvements + Utilize and red-line Qualification Test Plans, Performance Test Plans, Safety/Hazard Characterization Test Plans, Procedures, and Reports + Resolution of change requests from customer, manufacturers, or suppliers + Perform Reliability Analyses and Safety Engineering processes on systems **Qualifications** **Required Education and Experience** : Bachelor's degree and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience; four (4) years' experience can be accepted in lieu of degree **Required Clearance** : + A Top Secret Clearance is required to begin employment; a TS/SCI Security Clearance is required to maintain employment **Required Skills** : + Knowledge of analyzing and/or designing RF circuits and systems, including understanding of signal propagation, modulation techniques (e.g., FM, AM, PSK, QAM ), and power levels to optimize signal quality and coverage within the designated frequency band + Direct experience in signals intelligence, or equivalent relevant disciplines including industry (development Contractor), DoD or other Agency (NRO, NGA, NSA, etc.) background + Strong background in Agile development and experience with the Atlassian suite of tools (Jira, Confluence) and ability to influence the program’s transition to Agile development + Understand RF signaling and components (e.g.: Bias Tee, Amplifiers, etc.)\ + Understand electrical power and systems + Research and learn new applications + Analyze system data and create reports + Perform testing on electrical systems + Strong background in Microsoft Office tools to include Project and Visio + Build and maintain customer relationships and partnerships with stakeholders at all levels **Physical Requirements:** + Must be able to lift, pull, push and carry up to 30 pounds, unassisted, on a regular basis + Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, climb ladders/equipment, and crawl for extended periods + Must have physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks throughout the workday + Strong hand-eye coordination to operate tools and machinery safely + May be asked to work outdoors in all-weather conditions + Must be able to move and arrange heavy supplies and equipment **Desired Skills:** + Background involving analyzing system requirements, designing and developing system architecture, implementing system components, testing and troubleshooting system issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams, documenting system processes, optimizing system performance, managing system upgrades, and ensuring system security and compliance + Understanding of how RF signals interact with the environment, including factors like path loss, reflection, and diffraction Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000.
