Edgewater Federal Solutions is currently seeking a Senior Systems Engineer III (Storage). In this Storage Administration role, you will be responsible for design, deployment, testing, certification, patching, addressing interoperability issues, not only of the base storage system, but for all features, components, and application dependencies - to include Storage Area Network (SAN), Network Attached Storage (NAS), Tape, local disk, Fibre Channel, iSCSI, etc.
Responsibilities Supporting highly available enterprise grade storage arrays and storage networking equipmentNAS/file storage protocols such as SMB/CIFS, NFS v3 and v4ISCSI and/or Fiber Channel Fabric connections to switches and arraysFunctional knowledge and experience with Windows Server operating system and Active Directory/LDAP/DNS/NTP/Kerberos - specifically how these affect network file system storage access in WindowsWindows NTFS security settings, Windows ACLs, VSS snapshotsPOSIX OS ACLs/mode-bits as it pertains to file system permissionsManaging Windows Distributed File System (DFS) for SMB HAExperience with file-based data migrations utilizing applications like Robocopy and rsyncMethodical approach to change execution and implementation to avoid risk and downtime in an enterprise environmentUnderstanding of storage concepts like RAID, hard disk technology, disk/device tiering (HSM), disk cache, compression, data-deduplication, replication, snapshots, and host multipathingUnderstanding of block, file, and object-based storage as well as their appropriate use casesFamiliarity with virtualization, VMFS, vVols, specifically VMware VCenter/vSphere/vSANas it pertains to thin provisioning storage and data reduction techniquesExperience with any of the following is a plus: Cohesity, Pure Storage FlashArrayor FlashBlade, DellEMC, object protocols (S3), Dell Compellent, WesternDigital Intelliflash, Netapp, EMC VNX, Isilon, Hitachi Arrays and Hitachi Command Suite Qualifications A Bachelor's degree is preferred and a minimum of 10 years of storage related experience, an advanced mainstream storage vendor certificationU.S. Citizenship is required per contract to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance with SCI-CI poly.Active Top-Secret Clearance with SCI-CI Poly eligibility
