Senior Systems Integration Engineer
**Description** ARS is seeking a Senior Systems Integration Engineer to support Air Force weapon systems development and sustainment. This expert-level position requires advanced knowledge of systems engineering with special emphasis on integration, airworthiness certification, and configuration management. The ideal candidate will lead efforts to ensure weapon systems are fully integrated, manufactured, and maintained to meet operational safety, suitability, and effectiveness standards throughout their lifecycle. Responsibilities include: + Lead systems engineering activities focusing on systems design, integration, manufacturing, quality engineering, and configuration management + Develop and maintain processes to ensure weapon systems are fully integrated, operationally safe, and effective throughout their lifecycle + Apply expert knowledge of AFPD 62-6, MIL-HDBK-516, and FAA airworthiness requirements to support flight authorization processes + Perform risk assessments and provide safety analyses and recommendations for high priority safety issues + Support system definition, development, verification, and certification across a wide range of hardware and software systems + Assist the Airworthiness Certification Working Group (ACWG) with development and maintenance of Modification Airworthiness Criteria Certification (MACC) compliance packages + Analyze technical proposals and modifications for design feasibility and system capability + Conduct various assessments including performance effectiveness, cost analysis, maintainability, and reliability + Provide technical expertise in systems engineering processes, functional and physical architectures, and interface management + Support the development of Systems Engineering Plans (SEP) and system design baselines Qualifications/ Technical Experience Requirements: + Must be a US citizen + Active or current Secret security clearance required (or ability to obtain) + Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field with 12+ years of systems engineering experience, including 5+ years supporting DoD programs, OR Bachelor's degree with 15+ years of systems engineering experience, including 5+ years supporting DoD programs + Expert knowledge of systems engineering methodologies, integration processes, and configuration management + Demonstrated experience with DoD/Air Force airworthiness certification processes, including AFPD 62-6 and MIL-HDBK-516 + Comprehensive understanding of system lifecycle management and OSS&E requirements + Experience with risk modeling, simulation, and human systems integration + Proven ability to support technical reviews and provide engineering assessments + Strong analytical skills with experience conducting trade studies and feasibility analyses + Experience supporting acquisition documentation and technical proposal evaluation + Knowledge of interface management and system architecture development All positions at Applied Research Solutions are subject to background investigations.
