Senior Systems Integration Specialist

Position Summary

As a Senior Systems Integration Specialist you are responsible for planning, building, securing, and supporting computer systems and network infrastructure used by advanced sterilization systems. You will design, build, and support internal information systems infrastructure, business applications, and databases required by STERIS for the development and manufacture of advanced sterilization systems. In this role you will work with Customers to integrate computer, networking, and cloud technology into their existing infrastructure, and enable and support the technology that allows support engineers to offer global support, 24/7. As a Specialist you will work in tandem with your partners in the software development, engineering, and manufacturing departments to deliver a quality product and enable ongoing Customer success. Finally, you will guide, assist, and lead Levels 1 and 2 in the performance of Customer duties and responsibilities to ensure excellent Customer Service. 

 

This role requires onsite work 5 days per week at our Stitsville, Ontario location.

What You'll do as a Senior Systems Integration Specialist Discover and evaluate new platforms, technologies, and solutions; maintains awareness of emerging technologies. Assess and communicate opportunities.  Communicate and collaborate with supervisor, systems integration team members, software applications developers, and engineers. Utilize project tracking, service management, and ticketing tools.  Contribute to a team effort by performing in accordance with all STERIS policies, GMP, Lean principles and other directives; support the directives and decisions of higher-level management. Utilize Customer specifications to design software and hardware systems; implement solutions to address Customer needs and requirements.  Create and document solutions for deployment in the production and test/development environments.   Perform testing of hardware and software to minimize defects prior to system integration; lead testing and validating systems and on-site installation. Guide, assist, and lead a lower-level Systems Integration Specialist in the performance of Customer duties and responsibilities.  Coordinate and lead advanced support and troubleshooting of existing Customer solutions.  Plan and schedule Customer software and hardware updates and upgrades as required.  Provide mentorship to one or lower-level Systems Integration Specialist; provide input to management on individual contribution to development projects.  Maintain Customer software and hardware updates and upgrades. All other duties as assigned. 
  The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed

Required:

Technical Training / College Diploma in related field (Computer Systems Technology, Computer Systems Technician, Network Technology) Minimum 5 years related expereince. Minimum 9 years related experience accepted in lieu of degree. Experience with inventory management. Experience writing and maintaining documentation. Experience with network infrastructure design. Working knowledge of the following systems: Network Infrastructure Server and Virtualization Software and Applications Networking Protocols and Services Communication and Surveillance

 

Preferred:

Familiarity with the following is an asset: T-SQL (SSMS)  PowerShell  Network Security Appliances (non-vendor specific)  Active Directory administration  Network SAN  Veeam  Azure administration 

 

Other:

Experience with documentation writing and mathematical aptitude.  Strong attention to detail. Experience analyzing project data.  Effective time management and prioitization skills.  Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues.    Experience with writing reports and tracking issues and solutions.
